Teachers don't have child protection training as part of their teacher training circulum. If they do they they will have a full understanding of why it is wrong to cane a child. Ministry of Education and Health must introduce the child protection policy for judges to use in prosecuting teachers who cane pupils. Currently there is nothing of this sort in Ghana and parents, adults and general public are abusing children because there is no child protection policy that prevents them from doing so. As a result vulnerables children in communities are abused daily in Ghana and there is no voice out there to defend them. Rather Ministers are focused on the latest cars they can drive to show off.

On Monday morning, the teacher walked to the blackboard and noticed someone had written the word "penis" in tiny letters. She turned around, but couldn't find the guilty face. She quickly erased it and began her class.
Tuesday, she was again greeted with "penis" on the blackboard, written in larger letters. She looked around in vain for the culprit, and then proceeded with the day's lesson.
Every morning for the rest of the week, "penis" was written on the board in larger and larger letters, and each time, the teacher furiously erased it. By Friday, she'd had enough.
"That's enough," she sputtered. "I -- I can't believe this! Monday morning, I expect an explanation for this behavior!"
On Monday morning, the teacher confidently entered the classroom and found on the board: "Don't you know -- the more you rub it, the bigger it gets?"

How would lawyers and judges feel when laymen tell them(judges) not to fine or imprison criminals like armed robbers, but to just advice or warn and let them (criminals) go? Or can a teacher or lawyer dictate the kind of prescription health workers should give to patients? If that happens, it will result in catastrophe. Equally, telling teachers not to cane is leading Ghana into a great disaster. The so called advocates should leave teachers alone to do their work. This is Africa and not Europe or America. The culture you are importing is not good for us. Please!!!!!!
