We are definitely a nation of idiotic fools , i have for a while decided to hold my peace because it seemed we have a sensible finance minister making the right moves but this toxic pepeni kwasiapanyin Bawumia has erased all good. Atta Mills went to bed with this Satan and it cost him his life together with 200,000 hardened criminals they sent here that have poisoned our water bodies and long term devastated our economy. China has ignored over a billion of their citizens in dire need of the entering into the post industrial era and come here and promise WHAT? I said that this Bawumia is the reincarnation of the devil and evil that air brained Nana has put in his office. He continues with his project of the islamisation of Ghana with the establishment of an Islamic university to breed toxic propagators of evil in our land. He blocks all Akan diaspora private capital in the tens of billions because its from primarily Christian countries. Where in the world has China given capital , technology and industry for another country to develop? The only reason why this is on the table is to make Ghana a suspicious ally at best to our western civilizations and other christian countries . We saw an influx of islamic money which we dont need yet everyone played dumb because the political oligarchy is playing ball with the Muslim caliphate and soon our stubborn Christians will start seeing their children's throats being turned toward Mecca like goats and slashed . My brothers arm yourselves like our friends in Denkyira but wait for the clarion call to wipe out this cancer amongst us. Enough is enough

Ofui KOKU ANYIDOHO can't read and understand these common wording, because he is bereft of normal human IQ period. Dr. Bawumia made it clear the government didn't sign MOU with China because the loans were made to the Association of Ghana Industries. This woman also clarified same point and said that the government didn't sign the MOU but the AGI did. What's so complicated about these two statements that some of you can't comprehend?

BOY KOFI, Valco does not 'refine bauxite' but use alumina (from the refined bauxite) to produce aluminium. Aluminium (both molten and solid) is then sold to ALUWORKS, GHANA ALUMINUM, etc to produce roofing sheets, aluminium utensils, etc. So if the MoU is between the Chinese govt and AGI somebody must 'guarantee' this, that's where the govt of Ghana comes into play. The govt through Valco has for the past 20yrs or so tried to get business partners to exploit the bauxite at Atiwa so it's in ok that this is used to help with the development of the nation. Our bauxite at Tarkwa Prestea has been mined by the Canadians (ALCAN) for over 50yrs or so and yet they're not ready to set up a bauxite plant in Ghana to refine it into alumina to feed VALCO. VALCO imports alumina from Jamaica, USA, China and other countries. If we now can get alumina to feed Valco that's value added, and we can make huge savings to support the economy. This, I believe, is the thrust of the negotiation with the Chinese. My only caution is, Ghana govt must look and think sharp before signing any agreement because the Chinese are very 'smart', so smart that Prez Trump of the USA is very careful dealing with them. They want our oil, gold, bauxite etc. We can do better to use them as a good 'weapon' to negotiate effectively. We don't want them to become future colonial masters. No galamsey, and no cutting of corners when dealing with them.

What the hell are you on about! Why this pent up anger against the vice president when what he seeks to do and the government is to bring prosperity to the nation. Where do you think we are going to find that kind of money to develop our nation? With the right negotiations and smart thinking like what he told us at airport when he landed is, Ghana have all these resources that they can tap into by following the laid down rules binding the exploration of these resources. The country has to grow so we need investment's to build the country to be able to implement these policies like the one district one factory which will put so many people to work especially the teeming unemployed youth then in turn brings more monies into the system where we furthermore build proper Industries for proper economic prosperity. You seem to clearly have bitterness in you that a Muslim like Bawumia should not be at the fore front of this positive initiative.

Aku Banesseh has made a point, but she failed to address the underlining cause of what she is talking about. By likening NDC failure to secure to what the NPP is doing, underscores her inaptitude on the subject matter. When the NDC signed the MOU for the Chinese loan, their credit rating was in positive note, but in the cause of disbursing the said loans by the Chinese government, the credit ratings and all the economic indicators of Ghana started to take a nosedive. Our GDP was revised to sharply negative numbers, suggesting that we were descending into an economic recession. Aku Banessah and her NDC pessimists should ask themselves this simple question: if I come to borrow from her (miss Banesseh), and in cause of releasing the said loans to me; someone allerts her that, I'm unemployed and can never pay back her money: is she going to release the funds to me, if indeed it's proven that I can't pay back her money? This is exactly what happened with the NDC. By contrast the NPP started on a positive note, they've improved our credit ratings, closing the wasteful loopholes in our public sector, tackling corruption and have implemented numerous prudent economic measures that suggest that indeed they are a force to reckon, who wouldn't want to engage such a team in their business dealings. Sometimes I feel ashamed about some of the postures of the NDC minority when it comes to making sound arguments on important issues, either their actions are borne out nativity or desperation, is a million dollar question!!

Let me get this straight. According to Mr. Know it all Bawumia, the $2bn facility will be relayed to banks in Ghana, then Ghana government will in turn borrow the money to finance the obstreperous one-district-one-factory project, then the government will pay interest over the loans to the banks in Ghana, then the banks in Ghana will in turn pay the Chinese the interest over the loans. That means, the people of Ghana will be paying double interest: one to the banks in Ghana, and the other to the Chinese.
This is the most convoluted financial trickery in the history of Ghana.

This one district one factory policy is a laudable one. And I hear part was initiated during Kuffour's time ,run under the ministry of trade with Honourable Allan Kyeremateng running the show at the time. But this is my worry. I expect that the overall framework for this policy should have been made public by this time. I hear again that it is going to come out by next week. That will be great if that is true. Bcos both local and foreign investor would want to see this framework to take decisions. And I pray that the framework would show, the strengths and weaknesses of each district for investors to make the right decisions as to which district they want to invest in, and which factors of production are required. The document must show for each district the raw materials, labour etc that are available or not available so that investors may take right decisions. For example whether there is enough electricity supply or not so that decision will be made by the investor concerning energy generation. Whether there is availability of enough water or not. All these must be enshrined in ODOP document and made available in a website for all to see. Waiting for the lady in charge at the presidency. Thanks

Now they are eating humble pie scrambling around for funds to attempt to meet their manifesto commitments!
Was it not the same NPP that heavily criticised President Mahama for arranging the $3 billion Chinese loan facility? Did they not say that the Mahama admin could have got cheaper money elsewhere?
Is it not the same Bawumia who has been attacking the Mahama admin for borrowing heavily and putting our country into debt distress? Has the NPP not been trumpeting the economic 'mismanagement' of the Mahama admin?
If it was bad for the Mahama admin to get a loan from the Chinese, why is it good for Bawumia to get a loan 5 times bigger from the same source? Why is the NPP circumventing laying such a huge loan before Parliament?
Why are ministers and public officials making conflicting statements about the loan?
Asem no aye bisi basaa!!
The Nana Addo admin should be warned. The Chinese are hard-nosed businessmen who will exact their pound of flesh! they will squeeze every bit of interest from us for this loan. The Mahama admin had to halve the loan as the Chinese were demanding more oil in repayment than we could afford.
Vice-President Ammisah-Arthur said he would teach Bawumia some practical lessons in Economics. Bawumia is now learning the hard way that economic management is a far cry from the textbook stuff he has been spewing out.
