Also they felt they had Charlotte on their side to call the election for them but Charlotte found out that the tsunami was too overwhelming to present any lies. 3. The NPP outsmarted them by having a well planned and executed collation center. In conjunction with the many radio stations and media houses also broadcasting results in realtime it was difficult for EC to massage the numbers. You could tell from the body language of the EC office during their press conference during the night that they had been outwitted. The government should insist on a root cause analysis of the breakdown at the EC and publish the report.

Look, folks, if the 2 Nations really care to see the corruption among our leaders disappear, they could have long plugged up all the leaky holes in their systems that allow our leaders to hide their loots they stole from us in those countries.

It isn't like the 2 Powers don't know which leaders are stealing from us and where the booties are being stored far away from us. They sometimes even encourage the corruption among our leaders themselves, so long as those Powers are partly benefiting from it.

If that wasn't the case, the Kosmos-EO Oil deal, for example, would never have been supported by the US. Meanwhile, the bulk of the wealth the EO-Group 'earned' from that deal was allowed to be hidden in the Cayman Islands where the Partnership was said to have been registered, (a Ghanaian company that is registered overseas, instead) controlled to a large extent by the 2 powerful Nations.

So, let's face it. Many of these actions the 2 Nations take are not necessarily in the best interest of the ordinary Ghanaians. Period!

Ashantis and other Akan tribes should stop the worship of the race in white skins, this is what has brought us to this level of disrespect; a situation in which Ghanaians crave to hold American and British passports with pride rather than their own, a situation where any Akan President in Ghana arranges a dinner visit to the Burkingam palace just for a historical photo session with the Queen, a situation where our Akan Presidents will go wait at the Airport for a visiting white President, only for him to arrive and refuse to share a ride in the same cars that picks him up on arrival. The outgone British High Commissioner came and showed gross disrespect even to our members of parliament and walked out on us without repremand because certain tribes in Ghana chose to worship and ardore the white man. The removal of previliges and courtesy to our past Presidents, ministers etc. is not applicable to all African countries but isolated to Ghana alone and why. We should begin to address our mentality as Ghanaians and begin to claw back our respect before the white man otherwise I don't see why our local pressmen will choose to break the media frontiers just because Ashantehene is visiting the Queen of England and by so doing be regarded as a monarch never seen anywhere in Ghana and beyond. Certain sections of Ghanaians are the cause of the disrespect to all of us as a nation and this unacceptable self demeaning attitude must stop forthwith.

Our ex presidents visit and also get visas for family and friends to vacation or in some cases stay in the US. I am sure some of these directives is from reviewing the files of ex presidents and top politicians as well as the Trump effect. Reciprocating doesn't work because traffic is one way.

After reading the whole content of what US ambassador said and the comments other people have passed on this issue a m hereby sharing my view on the issue. First of all we have to do in-depth investigation to find out what triggered this new movement by the Ambassador. I heard some people saying US don't respect the Africans and so we should do same to them do they care? I also read someone's comment that we can be rich at home without traveling outside the country and even there are some people in US suffering so why are we traveling? Another person answered him by saying that it is the standard of living that matters most. I think this person knows what he is talking about. Brethren the truth is that if we want to do same to US I t is we who will suffer but not them. I used to work in Ghana in one of the respectable jobs but when I came to US I couldn't continue that same job because of educational system differences even the dirty job am doing what I earn every 2 weeks is far higher than my directors monthly salaries let alone one month pay. When you are here in abroad and you compare what goes on here and that of Africa even an idiot can say that Africa is a curse period. Even we the ordinary citizenry we turn to defend our leaders and former leaders even when they do something wrong when in power. We don't allow the law to take it own course. You can't see this here. The typical example is what happened to the former Virginia governor he was sent to prison for accepting less than $200,000. The law dealt with him without any interference from his party members. Can this happen in Africa in general and Ghana in particular? Look at our former ministers stolen cars after leaving office and we have some people supporting them and later the same people will cry foul my goodness. The former leaders have to queue to me is in order to teach them a lesson and also serve as a deterrent to those in office now that if they don't do what is right to their own very people same will happen to them. Ghanaians need to thank the US for taking this bold decision for the benefit of the citizens of ghana. Please don't let us defend them let them fight their own fight. What will the ordinary people get when these people come to US? Some of the leaders if not all are cheat the steal our money and send their kids abroad for the best education why can't they make things best for us? We have all what it takes to make a country rich but yet we are poor. Are these leaders poor? Parliamentarians think about themselves and their small family members but not on the very people who voted them to power. They will queue with the ordinary people is a good idea. Ghanaians we don't tell the truth and when Kennedy opens his mouth some say he is bad especially his own party leaders and threaten to kill him what a bull shit.Ken we support you say all especially your damn greedy party members. For me, it is increasingly becoming clearer that, some foreign missions in Ghana have no respect for us (Blacks) and I don’t blame them but our own leaders who have so manifestly failed us by conniving with them to reduce us to less human to them. How did we get here in the first place? And what is the value of a US visa?
We got here because some STUPID AFRICAN Leaders helped these foreign thieves to rob us of our own natural resources and these leaders were convinced by these foreign thieves to have visas and lodged the stolen monies in foreign banks. These stolen monies were then given back to Africans as Loans, Grants, Budgetary Support, and to some extends scholarships. Now because our leaders have stolen monies lodged in their banks, these very foreign thieves will now dictate to them how they should use the monies. I am very shocked to hear that the US ambassador to Ghana had the effrontery to tell us that our past presidents will now have to queue just like the ordinary citizens to get visas. Well, the question is, what will necessitate the need for a past president or past Member of Parliament to need a US Visa for private trip to the US if the fellow has no stolen monies saved in the US? If our leaders will begin to think like Gadhafi did, these foreign mission in Ghana will begin to respect us.
What at all is the value of a US visa? To me it’s a complete piece of SHIT and Ghanaians must begin to know that, the US embassy in Ghana is milking many Ghanaians through visa fees and it is high time we as a people begin to stop trooping into their embassies for visas. If we do not patronize the US embassy for just one month, their planes flying to Ghana will grind t to a halt.
Finally, our leaders must begin to think and stop stealing monies from us. They must never save their monies in foreign bank. When Gadhafi’s son withdrew monies from Swiss and UK banks, they killed his father and African leaders sat stupidly without complaining.
@#boycottUSVISAinGHANA should be the new trend.
@#STOPsavingmoniesinforeignbanks should be our daily pledge.
Long live Africa, Black people must begin to believe in themselves and stop depending on these whites.

I think Ghanaians should chill and look at the brighter side. Maybe this might be the opportunity to push us along by getting to know ourselves better on the African continent as Africans and promote the integration we have been talking about. How do you talk about integration, land, sea, air and the economic benefits to be reaped when you don't even travel within the continent? This has been a good exercise though to gauge how society thinks about the West in the face of changing geopolitical dynamics.

It does not seem to matter, then, that a country would do its best to maintain a most cordial relationship with either of these Nations, if that third Nation gets a problem with one of them, both gang up to inflict similar penalties on the third Nation, even if the action of that 3rd Nation did not negatively affect the other of the two in anyway.

It is interesting how these two Western Powers, seem to treat African Nations as some dispensable toilet tissues!

Just because Jon Benjamin's High Commission found some of our Political leaders as breaching UK visa privileges and decided to penalize them, the USA also decides to institute similar penal actions against even a broader bunch of our Politicians who might not have committed any of the offenses Mr. Benjamin alleged.

Now, who would doubt that the UK colluded with the USA to get the CIA plot Nkrumah's overthrow? No matter how friendly we present ourselves to these Nations, they do not seem to appreciate it much.

Just see how we have bent over backwards to accept their Gitmo former prisoners to ease the political pressure on the USA. And this is how we get rewarded for it?

I know people would say the USA has been helping us in uncountable number of ways beyond the issue of Visa to our leaders. After all, the policy taken now is meant to even the playing field for all our Citizens.

But, in reality, it is meant to degrade our leadership's stature on the global political platform. I would have ordinarily like to see such a policy implemented long before any such scandal as Jon Benjamin claimed against our Politicians came about.

The irony is very glaring, indeed. If you add the way Jon Benjamin derides our leaders he considers fallible and culpable in certain domestic issues, it suggest very strongly how lowly he thinks of us as a people. I may be wrong in these analyses, through and through. But it is the culmination of such actions over the years of how we get treated versus how others are for the same or similar faults we are called out on by these Powers.

It saddens me a lot that many of us, like me, have long reposed a very high level of confidence in the two Nations as our best traditional foreign friends, and would do almost everything to see our mutual relationship grow, only to be isolated for very harsh and unfriendly treatment by them.

Would we ever see the two Nations treat the ruling Sheikhs of the Saudi Arabia and the UAE and Kuwait and leaders of Israel the same way as they have been treating us? I doubt it. Surely, the bonds between each of these above Nations and the two Powers may be very much tighter and more important ours to them. But visitor's visa is the least privilege that we could ever expect any Nation to share with another deemed friendly.
