Most of the current ministers in the Akuffo- Addo administration have at least achieved some reasonable success or some sort of self sufficient levels in life before they joined the administration ok! Make some background checks and determine who these people are. From the president even to the youngest ministers. Unlike the NDC administration who appointed people like Okudzeto Ablakwa, Kwakye Fosu, Fiifi Quartey, Ayariga, Yamin, Afriyie Ankrah and the rest of team of young and inexperienced ministers, who became ministers as their first jobs after graduation. What an irresponsible administration NDC and John Mahama was. Put politics aside and make some compare and contrast with the current administration, and see the difference. There are a lot these guys in the current administration who can go for years without salaries and that may never affect them financially. Most the current ministers own businesses and investments before they joined the government ok!

Corruption and thievery was a free flow under the John Cribo Mahama and his forty thieves administration, the president was stealing, his wife was pilfering, his siblings were looting, talk less of his cabinet ministers: everybody in the administration was illegally amassing wealth, as if there would be no tomorrow, and who was supposed to set up the checks and balances? Anytime someone in the government was accused of stealing, the president instead setting up an investigation, will rather promote the person and give him another portfolio. This stupid Yamin guy and Afriyie Ankrah are the typical example. When they were cited for stealing after the 2014 World Cup, were the two of them not promoted and transferred to different departments? Now he's got the beak to spew his nonsense. First understand that we are lucky some foreign financial institutions has risked their investors money to come buy our Domestic Bonds. Ghana is not a top address for global money management institutions to invest in local currency and we must congratulate the Finance Minister and his colleagues for pulling this domestic Bond placement instead hounding him?. With your continuing nonsensical comments , do you think other foreigners will come assume the risk in buying our local Bonds? I guess your concept of debt management strategy is to continue your brother Tekper's 26%-22%i interest short term Domestic Bond auctions.? The dim witted NDC has placed this Bond issue with Ghana's CHRCJ and US SEC.. why not wait for their judgements on this your so called conflict of interest? Or you do not believe in rule of law : not guilty until an institution of judicial competence has declared one guilty? Fair minded people know the political games you and the NDC are up to. Minister for Finance, Mr. Ofori-Attah, “has attempted to promote a private, personal interest for himself or for some family members and business associates and the promotion of the private interest has resulted in, or was intended to result in, or appears to have resulted in, or has the potential to result in an interference with the objective exercise of his duties and an improper benefit or an advantage by virtue of his position”, necessitating a call for an investigation into the bond deal.

In order to bring finality to the matter, we at STRANEK find it prudent to humbly ask the high office of the country to ensure that Mr. Ken Ofori-Atta steps aside as Minister for Finance pending investigations into the matter before CHRAJ. This is to help avert possibilities of the Finance Minister tampering with evidence which may help CHRAJ in its investigations.

It is also to allow the Commission the needed space to dig deep into the matter and present transparent findings which will be acceptable by the Ghanaian people.

STRANEK reiterates the pivotal campaign promise by H.E. Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo to Ghanaians on a clean and transparent government in addition to his unflinching commitment to fight corruption irrespective of who is involved.

Indeed, we at STRANEK admire his zeal and adrenaline to end corruption. Thus, it is our humble view that it would be in the interest of this country for him to preserve the sanctity, reputation and investor-confidence of the nation by giving our request the needed consideration.

STRANEK recommends that unless and until CHRAJ finally concludes investigations into the$2.25 billion bond deal, Mr. Ken Ofori-Atta must step aside. We are involved in building our motherland Ghana.
