  The symptoms in the story come no where near any bilharzia symptoms I knew even at the primary school. I just googled the word bilharzia n believe me this story is fake. Ignore it

  There is nothing the hotel can do even if the story were true. The hotel does not own the river and cannot control anything in it.
  If indeed there was Bilhazia for all these year causing depletion of iron, there should have been the passing of blood in the urine. Nothing of such was mentioned in this story. A simple urine test costing 10 or 15 cedis would have confirmed this diagnosis.

  I grew up in Ada n we had bilhaziar so many times when we were kids n all we took was this medication which turns ur urine yellow and after some time it goes away so where's all these symptoms from ?we could've been all dead as kids if we experience all these "hunhunscious" symptoms.
  And now there's no bilharziar in the river at Ada any more since the river is constantly dredged.

  People should be aware of the risks. Period. How does dredging a river once in donkey years eliminate these parasites? It will only be a temporary fix! They are worms carried by freshwater snails. You only have to come into contact with these worms in the water to get infected. I would have thought the water at Ada was more salty than normal fresh water but Konkonte confessed that they had the disease many times as kids. It's real peeps; be be warned!

The snails release the parasite into the water near the shore where the parasite looks for its next unsuspecting host to then enter. I am aware of many people who tested positive after going into the water--even just to step on the jet ski. This is certainly not fake news!
