Example is the abuse of sole sourcing to inflate contract sums to the benefit of Mahama and his family and friends.

Akomea, you knew the rot and depth of corruption that NPP under Kuffour introduced - selling of Ghana's drilling ship for cheap, changing Ghana's currency just a month to hand over power and looted so much of the new cedis in millions, now you see Minister of Finance looting in billions of dollars under present NPP government. Chasing $10,000 and $40,000 cannot be sickening to Akomea, when he says nothing about the millions and billions being looted by his NPP people. Kuffour called said he does not see any corruption in his government but is just different perception. Who has ever gone to prison or assets seized for monies stolen? Nothing. A case goes to court and it takes months if not years to be decided. When a case for corruption goes to courts, the courts must sit day and throughout the night to prolong the unnecessary delays. Remember justice delayed is justice denied. A day or two sleepless nights of the judges and court officials is worthy to sacrifice for millions cedis for the nation.

The greatest threat of fighting corruption in our society is the hypocrisy of some Ghanaians. I know that our current president Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo, is known by many as a man of principle; one who keeps his words, and walks the talk. Recently when some people were cited by the BNI for investigation of various issues of financial malfeasance, people started criticizing the government of a witch hunting: They branded the investigation process as selective and directed mainly against the previous NDC appointees and supporters. Others described it as ethnocentric driven vendetta: but the same people forget what happened in Ghana during the revolutionary era. The reality is that crimes and criminal minded individuals have no party colors and could be from any of the two major political aisles. So if we draw a political picture in our fight against corruption, how are we going to fight the canker, which is so prevalent in our Socio Political dispensation: and the greatest threat to our survival as a nation and a society of equal rights and freedom of Justice which was the basis of our fight against colonialism by the founding fathers of our beloved nation? Nevertheless every right minded Ghanaian citizen believes that fighting corruption is our collective responsibility and needs to be tackled with a Pragmatic approach. Recently the president proposed that some of the best and effective tools for fighting corruption is to name and shame the culprits and to effectively prosecute the prospective and the would be criminals. In my opinion this might not be enough, why? Most of the corrupt government officials and other people who engage in malfeasance, do it as a result of societal and peer pressure; most of these people are morally weak that, they would try to appease their families and friends and therefore engage in every means possible to meet their demands to raise their status in their various communities and societies. As a result, it would be effective to shame these people in their various communities and in presence of their town folks than to totally incarcerate them to serve their full sentence. The best way to do this is for the legislature to pass a sweeping reforms of how people who are found culpable of financial malfeasance and economic sabotage against our nation should be sentenced. I am therefore suggesting that these convicts should be sentenced to serving a three-quarters of their total sentence in incarceration and the remaining one-quarter in Communal or Community Labor. The authorities must make sure that, these convicts perform the community labor in their home towns or in their neighborhood of residence; and also see to it that they dress in their prison jumpsuits to make a point of deterrence that " This Person is a Thief and a Bad Citizen and Therefore should be seen as the Bad nuts in the Society. I think considering our culture and the prestige that people want to maintain in their various communities, nobody will want to be in this dilemma. Do you think there can be any way of deterrence than this?

If that amount these thieves of Ghana stole wantonly and crassly was to have been invested in that project, Ghana would have been witnessing some results and the nutritional requirements of Ghanaians would be on it's to being met.

I think this whole thing about appointment of Independent prosecutor is just a deal to buy time untill the NPP's corrupt bedmates in the NDC are all gone into hiding. The independent prosecutor will be appointed after all the corrupt officials have fled the country. If the NPP is eager to fight corruption, we have courts. Let the police arrest the corrupt officials and begin the process of prosecution and then hand over the cases when the independent prosecutor is appointed to start work. The barter system is where contractors pay school fees abroad and also completely foot funeral services cost. The contributions from funeral goers and sympathizers go directly to the gov't official involve- very nice clever way of diverting attention. I don't trust any political party as they are bunch of hunchbacks laughing at each other.

These people should stop behaving as angels. They have a lot of skeletons in their cupboard but today because they are in charge they are showting on roof tops as if they are even better than angels. This is just a matter of time. At the end of their term Ghanaians will know how corrupt they are. We haven't forgotten what happened in Ghana between 2001 and 2008. There is no difference between politicians in NPP, NDC. PPP, CPP and what have you. They are all the same. All this noise and name callings will come to nothing. Their leader should stop behaving as if he is GOD. They are only using this so called corruption to divert the attention of Ghanaians from the millions of promises they made to win the election. They know there is no way they can fulfil those promises as such they must use such diversionary tricks to fool Ghanaians. Shame on them!

He bought a government car for 700ghs in 2008 when I was paying 20,000ghs for a car I was buying then. Reading from his comments he is mad appointees are taking as much as $1 million as kick backs. It's not the corrupt practice of taking kickbacks that he is worried about but the amount being too much. Our leaders have been taking kickbacks for decades now. It's happening in almost all institutions, both public and private. When these corrupt people see a poor man they look down on them forgetting that they are only riding in these big cars because they are thieves. Most of them are part of the same secret societies so they won't jail their fellows. Woyome is still walking free. God is waiting for them.

Perhaps Ken Ashigbe and his minions who have benefited stupendously from John Manama's gravy train and largesse are hell bent on doing his bidding while showing a biased hostility towards the current government. If possible Nana Addo should replace the Graphic online editor with a fair-minded one before they cause much damage to his government.
