Only fools like this guy lives in the fools paradise (ndc). Everything they will do should be progressive so they think they can progressively rule this country forever with their corrupt jam. Long live one-district-factory.

You don't need anyone, not even a JHS graduate to tell you that these people are just throwing out phantom figures to excite and deceive the public. They claim they are targeting investments of between 500,000 and 5 million dollars per factory with government having a 30 percent equity and the 70 percent going to the private sector. Hmmm, they seem to assume that the private sector will invest on the whims and caprices of the NPP without due consideration on market available and size, and the overall sustainability of the projects having taken into consideration monthly salaries for employees and overall production cost. The most absurd of their projections is that these peanut investments will generate between 7,000 and 15,000 jobs per district. Here in Ghana? Wow!!! Even in agro-industries where the downstream growers, suppliers are included in the value chain, the numbers we are being told are unrealistic based on the sizes of industries they are anticipating. In fact, the best example of the failures of these noise-makers is the Ayensu Starch factory they claimed will lead to tens of thousands of jobs. This never happened. In fact, the whole enterprise collapsed under their watch. Today in Ghana, the obsessing of the media to create the impression that whatever the NPP, and particularly, Nana Addo, dreams about and voice out, are achievements for which we have to applaud. The promises and noise-making are becoming too much. We will patiently wait 2 years down the line to see whether all the euphoria and media hypes will come to pass. Let the NPP, its supporters, surrogates, corrupted media and gullible public keep believing in the so-called vision and delude themselves into premature celebration whilst 2020 approaches unnoticed. Time will surely tell!!!

Firstly, this 1 District-1 Factory policy initiative is not a new idea. Since the 60th Anniversary Celebrations of Ghana's Independence GTV, have shown different documentaries of Factories established by the CPP Government of President Nkrumah. For example, Car Assembly Plants, Cigarette, Match Boxes and other manufacturing policies. These State Owned Factories were located throughout the country. For example, Kumasi Business District. Unfortunately, mismanagement & corruption by Govt Officials led to the demise of these Factories. Goil is an example, of how a State Owned Business can be profitably run & personally, I have doubts about this policy being targeted at Foreign Investors. Offering tax breaks & incentives for foreign investment has not previously led to prosperity for Ghana & I am disappointed that this policy is not more specifically targeted at partnerships involving local investors & the Govt. If the Govt uses funds to establish these Factories & sells bonds or shares on the Ghana Stock Exchange to local investors I believe that this would lead to more revenue being realized then targeting foreign investors with tax incentives & holidays?

Please do not build anymore state run factories or enterprises they never work, incentivize the private sector and put in laws and policies that help employees, minimum payments, provision of insurance, hire locally etc as part of the package. Take a cue from cocoa farmers, they are up at dawn to go farm and compare that with the government owned workers.

Where is the money to fund this project coming from? Can the president tell Ghanaians that? It's called accountability to the people and the responsibility to keep and maintain what is good about our nation.

To the IMBECILE who wrote "The Running Nose President", l say to him l pray he lives long to witness the Visions of the Visionary leader he is trying to insult and degrade come to fruition. He will then be a witness to what a great, competent, experienced and able leader President Akuffo Addo is. An IMBECILE like him is either not the kind who thinks of Ghana's welfare, or a person who has been deprived of the looting and sharing going-ons in the previous mal-administration of John "Ford" Mahama. Am finally telling this IMBECILE to give our New President respect, okay! For even John "Womaniser" Mahama was accorded respect!!!
