SOURCE: CLASSFMONLINE ------ The Government of Ghana is reviewing the debts incurred by the John Mahama administration to find out whether the loans were used for the purposes of which they were contracted, Senior Minister Yaw Osafo Marfo, has revealed. After the review of the debt situation, the findings will be made public to enable the Ghanaian people realise how their moneys were spent by the previous administration, Mr Marfo added. It is recalled that during the electioneering season the then main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) accused the Mahama government of excessive borrowing but with little to show for, an assertion the then governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) rubbished because they thought they had embarked on several infrastructural projects with those loans. Mr Marfo speaking during the National Policy Summit on Tuesday May 16 said revealed that the new government is investigating all the debts left behind by Mr Mahama. “We are working on the numbers, the ministry of finance gives us the bulk numbers. But they do not all emanate from one source, we have some sitting in energy, some sitting in SSNIT and we are examining all. As a government and we are doing it gradually and slowly because we must be accurate. “We want to be sure that whatever comes out finally is accurate. The government owes it as a duty to keep the nation informed about these debts and what it was used for.”

Only Kwame Nkrumah saw the long term plan of our roads. Those that so called President that followed never actually constructed roads to last. Shoddy road works with over inflating projects for individual Ministers gain and being covered up my experienced accountant to make the book balance at the end of the day resulting to the roads you are observing now.

As Ghanaian living in the UK, I always wonder if we have people with brains managing our roads whenever I go to Ghana. A typical example is my loved city Tema. We have TMA and TDC sitting in big offices and the road network in Tema (a city bringing in millions of $ to Ghana) in dire straits. Since I left Ghana 30 odd years ago, there has not been a single network of road added, while motorist in Tema has increased by more than a 1000 fold. So does those who have been given the responsibility to develop Tema have brains? I leave the answer to you.

Stupid people making stupid uninformed noises without evidence. Roads within the Takoradi metropolis were tarred under the Kuffuor NPP government, and all were washed away with the onset of the first rains. This is no secret. It happened within Anaji and surrounding areas. It was John Mahama and the NDC who came to the rescue of the metropolis by asphalting the roads to acceptable levels. So those accusing the NDC should better check their records and see how the NPP screwed the country. They were very corrupt and incompetent. The NPP are super thieves who have expertise in shredding documents to hide their thievery, and have over the years gotten the corrupt judges to shield them from jail. God will sure reveal and expose them in the long run for Ghanaians to know who and what they really are.
