The same thing happened at our church. Our church has removed the drums, trumpets, etc and use only an electric piano and voices for our worship during this month. Some 'Ga Youth' came by and wanted to disturb the Sunday Service. They didn't want us using microphones.

The leadership in the Ga community need to speak out or churches who are trying to respect your beliefs will become defiant. You can't stop these churches from worshiping completely !

One other question....Where are these 'Ga Youth' when I hear the loud music coming from a nightclub close to my house????

About a month of so, there was a curfew in Ashanti Regin, Kumasi for days because or their Queen mother and the people has to obey the law of the land.
So if the Ga traditional rulers comes out that no one allowed to make noise for certain days why not obey that law. Give what is for God, and give what is for Cesar to him. God will judge us all.

If you site your church on.land which is in a traditional area, you have to observe restrictions such as a ban on noise at certain times of the year. This is impunity of the highest order by the pastors who ignored the ban,once you fail to comply its means you re battle ready,who do they go to for land to build this churches?why can't you just allow them one moth and take 11 months for your church service?everything rather than Christianity is seen as evil why?meanwhile if you follow most of this pastor to their various villages where they come from,most of their relatives back home re not Christians and yet they respect them,Ga,s for me re very generous,accommodating people,we ve to reciprocate their good gesture,city life and cosmopolitan nature of the capital is killing their culture and language and we must all help them keep it and stop this antagonistic attitude towards them when it's their festival season.This is a religious galamasey and we all know the price you pay when you refuse a ban.

Who is older, the Creator or the creation (smaller gods)? Has the bible not commanded Christians to make a joyful noise to the Lord, who is Jehovah the Almighty? So why should Christians obey worship their God in silence? Would they not be following the voice of a thief and not that of the Shepherd? Are these not the same people who after eating the "kpokpoi" and other foods offered to the gods, and drinking schnapps and other strong drinks offered to these gods who would sit in a chapel on the last Sunday for a non-denominational church service? Why attack Christians, then go to church for a non-denominational thanksgiving church service to thank who?
Today's Christians are too weak and afraid to die for Jesus. Also we make empty noise without the Holy Spirit backing us, because the moment those youth entered the chapel, they would have struck with blindness by God as it happened in the bible. But then, I ask the church members to pray for the entire Ga land because, it appears typical indigenous Gas, especially those who are members of the orthodox churches are still double-minded as the Jews (Israelites) during the time of Elijah. Spiritually, the battle is not over, those attackers must repent or they would surely face the wrath of God either in his life or at the second coming of Jesus.

The Bible said we should render to God that belongs to Him. And to render to Ceasser what also belongs to Ceasser. Again we live in the world but we don't belong to this world.
Both Good and Evil, God creates all.
The choice is ours. Christians are not week like you think. They are corrupt foes that has entered the ministry. Every Nation under heaven has a law, every tribes in Ghana has it tradition in the land. You can not go to Israel and live in a religious neighborhood and say you are a Christian therefore you will make a noise, by also drumming on Sabbath hours and the police will not arrest you. The Jews people pray without making noise but God listen to their prayers. The Moslems also pray and God also hear their prayers. The Bible said make a Joyful noise unto the Lord. But there is a time for everything. Don't want to go far with you. This ban is just for few days after that we can make that noise speaks in tongues as the spirit directs us. Let us also obey the law of the land.
The other day the traditional rulers in Ashanti Region passed a curfew in Kumasi because of the queen mother burial and other tribes living in that land also obeyed the order. The whole city was quiet like cemetery.

If you want to live in Accra you have no choice but to recognize and be sensitive to their traditions just like in any part of the country and you can co-exist. The same applies to churches and organizations that are stationed in Accra. Outsiders cannot complain about this ban in the name of christianity while they simultaneously recognize their traditions and rituals and worship in their churches.

This is nothing but double standard and hypocrisy of the highest order. Gas wants to preserve their heritage and tradition just like any other tribal groups in Ghana and nobody can dictate to them regarding rituals which are a prerequisite for the Homowo celebration. Any attempt to dilute the rich traditions/culture of the Ga people will be counter-productive.
