The Gomoa Buduburam Camp is a government - sanctioned den for robbers, drug dealers, prostitutes and all sort of undesirable characters. Liberians and other foreigners occupy the place as if they are extensions of their countries. Thousands live off the national grid and expensive treated water without paying electricity and water bills. Similarly thousands of traders and manufacturers use these utilities in the camp and the Kasoa mega city without paying bills.
In my nationalistic fervour, I was against the privatisation of the Electricity Company of Ghana. Not anymore! The workers are hopeless and need to be massively laid off.The company is capable of making good money for the state. If the workers really want to make a case for retention, this is the time for them to show us they are efficient and effective, especially in revenue mobilisation.
The goverment must of necessity raze down the Camp to save lives and secure properties in Kasoa and the environ, while the useless Electricity and Water Companies vigorously pursue citizens and businesses which use electricity and pipe-borne water without paying.Ghana is potentially rich.It is wastage of our resources as a result of government inaction which is destroying us. The buck stops with the President and his appointees!
