SOURCE: CLASSFMONLINE ------ The Government of Ghana is reviewing the debts incurred by the John Mahama administration to find out whether the loans were used for the purposes of which they were contracted, Senior Minister Yaw Osafo Marfo, has revealed. After the review of the debt situation, the findings will be made public to enable the Ghanaian people realise how their moneys were spent by the previous administration, Mr Marfo added. It is recalled that during the electioneering season the then main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) accused the Mahama government of excessive borrowing but with little to show for, an assertion the then governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) rubbished because they thought they had embarked on several infrastructural projects with those loans. ADVERTISEMENT Mr Marfo speaking during the National Policy Summit on Tuesday May 16 said revealed that the new government is investigating all the debts left behind by Mr Mahama. “We are working on the numbers, the ministry of finance gives us the bulk numbers. But they do not all emanate from one source, we have some sitting in energy, some sitting in SSNIT and we are examining all. As a government and we are doing it gradually and slowly because we must be accurate. “We want to be sure that whatever comes out finally is accurate. The government owes it as a duty to keep the nation informed about these debts and what it was used for.”

Dr. Napo, the Minister of Education has already laid the foundations for the next bombshell Ghanaians should expect of the highly deceptive NPP free education. Trust me the next shocker from him will be the anouncement of a strict high grade cut off pass mark before one can qualify for the surposed NPP free education. Yes, "It is said a people deserve the kind of leader they get" that is what we bargained for and now we have it.

Free SHS should not be wholesale. At least there must be conditions attached. The following conditions could suffice:
1) There must be a cut-off point for those who want to go to secondary or technical/vocational institutions. Aggregate 20 for those going to secondary schools and 30 for those going to technical/vocational institutions. Note: this does not mean that those who go to technical/vocational schools are low grade students. You know, subjects taught at the primary and JHS level are academic in nature and so those who have interest in technical and vocational courses are always left out. It is possible that if technical/vocational courses were started at the primary school level, those with low grade would have excelled better than their secondary school counterparts.
2) Special consideration should be given to students from outside the regional and district capitals.

By Prof. D.K Agyemang theory, all Ghanaians, street children, kayayeis, JSS drop outs of SHS entry age, must be admitted to schools, to enable them benefit from the government free SHS. The professor, having put out this warped thinking, goes on further to demand an apology from the Minister of Education. Who would have been deemed to be advising parents and guardians to push their wards to do well at school. I am deeply worried of this society. Ghanaians must be reoriented to understand the issues of the day and address them as they should. And not resort to positions influenced by their whims and caprices.
