Most of these workers at the state organizations will always resist any attempt at re-structuring their institutionms because they will not want to be exposed, or lose the illegal profits they make. The most annoying of them are the so-called Union Leaders whose activities over the years have been to the detriment of those organizations. Super corrupt Union leaders like Solomon Kotei and rest are the bane of our progress as a nation. They have grown horns, and think that they can take the nation for ransome anytime there is a move at reforms. Solomon Kotei is person this nation must get rid of, if we are to make positive progress in the labour front, and as a nation. ECG must be overhauled now. The workers can go to hell; afterall, they do not own the company. It belongs to all Ghanaians, and the nation deserves better than these hungry and corrupt looting brigades who are bent on being allowed to continue milking the nation dry.

kwabena donko should be ashamed of himself, I hate people when they are in power do virtually nothing of a known problem, but start throwing stones when they are out of power.
encountering such a problem as minister should have given him a clear vision to redraw the structures with new sound policies just to ensure sanity in the system.
solutions
1.in the country of lack of proper addressing system,
we need a domestic and industrial affordable flat rates
eg is every domestic meter is to pay a flat GHC 50 A MONTH
and industrial meter is to pay a flat rate of GHC 150 A MONTH.
THIS CAN HELP THE PEOPLE TO MAKE ADVANCE PAYMENTS for ECG to get their money.
it could also reduce the corruption in the system , because some of the area managers do the unbilling intentional just for compilation and they come to you for negotiations of pay a bribe and we write your debt off .
2. the prepaid meter system was one of the way out, but was criminally to steal from the people implemented . the prepaid meter should have been more cheaper than the traditional meter system because of less human, paper and fuel cost .
3. the education on per kilowatt meter reading .
when the people got much understanding about the charges per kilowatt , they will save energy when they are not in the house.
if the people in authority build the system on selfishness , there is no way you can succeed in sanitizing the system. just make sure there is a customer priority centered system , valued the customer , make them feel free and touched in transparency and everything will turn around successfully

Most of the ECG workers don't pay bills even those who pay always under pay. How can a worker at ECG pay 1.5 or 2,00 or at most 5.00 for fridge, TV, fun, bulb and iron and another person in the same house will be paying 150, ... read full comment

How can a worker at ECG pay 1.5 or 2,00 or at most 5.00 for fridge, TV, fun, bulb and iron and another person in the same house will be paying 150, 100, 70 and sometimes 200. is this fare? Because he works there so he has done connection and nobody can ask him anything.

These ECG Union members are always rushing to meet the media with their ridiculous red head and arm bands singing war songs because the Govt is negotiating to part privatise their failed service delivery which is also leaking resources on a daily basis but can't put pressure on their management to make the service profitable! If a monopoly like the Ghana ECG with a captive market cannot be profitable and successful then why do these nation wreckers have the audacity to present themselves like Ghanaians owe them a living? One of their so called leaders was just on telly and didn't have a clue about the rot the Minister of Energy has uncovered in their shameful organisation! ECG Staff, shame unto you for letting the country so down!!
