  Your fears may not be unfounded. But the good news is that all persons resident in Ghana will be registered. A distinction will however be made for Ghanaians and other nationals. So in theory, we will have an ID for all registered Ghanaians. So also, an ID card for all other nationals resident in Ghana. I have not doubt, the colour or the feature of each ID grouping will be distinct. If the scheme is put in place successfully, Ghanaians will have the peace of mind to go about securely in their land. We may get other nationals to come into Ghana. But these will be people who would come for specific things. They will move back to their countries as soon as the business they came in to work on is completed. Of course, there would have to be stringent laws which should apply. If a person is accosted by a police officer or any security operative in the street. One should be able to satisfy the officer that he is the person he claims to be, with the show of his or her identity card. Vagrancy, which breeds petty crimes and grow to become violent behavior, will be a thing of the past. Custodial sentence for offenders and repatriation will be have to follow, to complete the process. More importantly, there will not be government payroll fraud or a bloated voters electoral register..

  I am impressed by the three elements highlighted by the Vice President Dr Bawumia ,to move this nation foreward.However,I think we need sufficient time , not less than 6 months to complete coding every house and vicinity in the country.This will anable individuals to provide accurate addresses ,etc for their National Identification cards.I also think that,the street naming was done without proper consultation with experts.Most of the streets names are comical and residents can't remember names of their own streets.In Europe etc. the name of a hero is commonly found in every city or town, eg Kofi Annan street or Cardinal Turkson Road is found in Takoradi,Obuasi,Tarkwa,Ho,Hohoe,Kumasi, Sunyani ,Berekum,Bolibamboi, Tumu ,Koforidua,Akrofuom,Edubiasi etc There's no Ohene Djan street in any of our regions ,districts or towns but we have Fish street, Palm street,Maame kooko avenue etc.Leider ,Wir Sind comishe , entschuldigung!
