SOURCE : ADOMONLINE.COM -------- A New Patriotic Party (NPP) Communicator, Kwame Baffoe, has called for the dissolution of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Parliament. ‘Abronye DC’ as he is referred to speaking on Adom FM’s Morning Show, ‘Dwaso Nsem’ Monday argued that the dissolution of the constitutionally created body is necessary because the committee has failed to live to its mandate. The Committee despite having the powers of a High Court, Abronye DC said has failed to convict persons who are implicated in the Auditor General’s report that appear before it. “The Public Accounts Committee must be dissolved, people appear before it and just fail to justify why the loot monies from the state coffers…instead of convicting them, they allow them to go scot free without arresting them…,” he argued. The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) studies public audits, invite ministers, permanent secretaries or other ministry officials to the committee for questioning, and issue a report of their findings subsequent to a government budget audit. Several persons have appeared and confessed before the committee of misuse of public funds with some of them begging for forgiveness. Abronye DC commenting on the failure of the committee to order arrest of people therefore argued that the country will be better served if the PAC is dissolved and an alternative found to retrieving monies stolen from the state from public officials and politicians. “Why are they not arresting people, they should do so to serve as a deterrence to others because they have the powers of a high court…they only permit people to go and just defend themselves in a shallow manner…,” he said.

The Minority is hiding behind parliamentary immunity to defame people for no just cause. The first was Hassan Ayariga and his failed attempt to dent the image of the Energy Minister. he could not be sued because of parliamentary immunity.
2. Okudjato Ablakwa has been involved in all the unsavory things said about the current administration. all in the name of parliamentary immunity.
it is about time the minority behaves as responsible minority and not to act in such a way as to dent the image of Ghana and drive away investors.
America is very concerned about how much money leaves their shore, do you think America will transfer $2billion without doing the due diligence?
what they are doing as irresponsible minority is just to dent the image of the Finance Minister, and for me no matter the results, Haruna Iddrisu has lost my respect forever.
We are going to petition the speaker of parliament to allow some immunities of these un-parliamentary parliamentarians to be waived so as to sue them.
We wait to see.

What the minority has done is a statement denigrating the integrity of our parliament. The appellants who are parliamentarians may face sanction by parliament. In their naivety and quest for credit they have exposed themselves. This appeal could have been lodged by any Ghanaian and need not have been given the stamp of our legislators. What happened to our sovereignty and interests as a country. It is a shame on our image.

This is why the Chinese come to our country and tear the countryside apart for Gold while we pray to God to give us good drinking water.
The NDC have already gone to CHRAG on this matter so could they not even wait for our own local institutions including our parliament to look into this matter.
What is wrong with the black man?
why do we need the SEC in the US to regulate the Bank of Ghana and the Ministry of Finance?

It's curious but did NDC also petition the same body to investigate the one Forson Ato and Terkper Seth issued, collected and stole sending Ghana's economy into a tizzy for which they were massively and severely punished by Ghanaians at the ballot box?
I think after stealing all that money and leaving that huge debt, NDC thought they had crippled NPP in delivering for Ghana, only to realize, that route had resulted in a dead end with the added positive prospect of jail awaiting them.
I am cocksure this investigation if credible will rather expose Mahama, Terkper and Forson for their malfeasance in previous bonds that will damage NDC forever. They have signed their own warrant and Mahama, Terkper and Forson are very likely to go to jail much earlier than maybe Opuni. It is coming. They will go and beg them to stop the investigation, just watch.

But this is fight is good though. This is the beginning of the "mother of all witch hunting" Does anyone agree with me here. Any NDC official that has embezzled public funds will be gone after by NPP. Before, like in Mahama bother's case, the strategy was: pay back the money you owe or embezzled and go and sin no more. But now that this fight has began at this level, NPP is smelling blood. Getting United States to meddle in our national affairs is a bit overboard and unnecessary in my opinion.
