This man should go to South Korea, Brazil and see what is going on in labs and machine shops. That's purely technology. Add computers, 3D and your world is changing.

Edgar just want to feel learned. You mean we cant use laboratories and workshops to connote (ICT or Technology? you are rather fixed to your colonial understanding of laboratories and workshops. You get opportunity on TRV and Radio and make hollow arguments. Programme producers will also not research and bring learned people to discuss issues than these bock heads.

Please, Edgar Wiredu, you are wrong on this issue and the President was right.Technologies originate from well-equipped laboratories and workshops in both secondary and tertiary institutions. In science, technologies are innovative ideas which originate from well equipped laboratories and scientific research works. And so, where do you expect our students or the nation to develop innovative ideas or technologies from when we don't have well-equipped laboratories and workshops? The problem with the Ghanaian educational system is that there is too much emphasis on the theories and concepts that we teach our students without practical works or applications. This is because our schools or universities lack good laboratories or workshops. Therefore to develop as a country, there should be more emphasis on practical assignments than just teaching our students with only abstract concepts. To be successful in this direction, our schools will need well-equipped laboratories and workshops that our president talked about. On this point, I think the President was right and you were wrong. This is not about insurance marketing and so please keep quite. This is about the development of scientific innovations and technologies for our schools and the country.

Did this Edgar guy think about what he said before opening his mouth? What is his definition of technology? Is he seriously saying, for example, that Computer laboratories are outmoded? I think that he is really challenged in his definition of 'technology' or is it a case that he must criticise at all cost? I must say that laboratories and workshops are not outmoded as Edgar wants us to believe. Advances in technology do not happen in a vacuum. They are developed in the labs and workshops!

HS laboratories and workshops are low level standard. However, Nana can achieve his goals by focusing on technical institutions with high level laboratories and workshops equipmet equivalent to University standard to provide modern technology.

This guy has been a discussant for over ten years but has not brought up any innovative ideas. He just criticizes and talks about things he has less knowledge of.He used to be refereed to as a lawyer and even though he is not a lawyer he did not complain. He is now being referred to as an insurance expert. If working for an insurance company without any major professional achievement makes you an expert, then God save Ghana
