Ghana/Africa is a paradise. In the abundance of water; the fool is thirsty. What a shame. Some of the citizens of these countries Ghanaians run to wished they had our land. How can we sit on Gold, Black Gold (Oil), White Gold(rubber), Golden Pod(Cocoa), water bodies,Pristine Beaches,Bauxite (Alu),ecologically and agriculturally pristine green landscape, largest man-made lake (Volta) and run elsewhere to seek greener pastures. Is it not paradox?!?

Kofi Kapito and those of you who have commented so far. Have you ever asked yourselves why foreign embassies in Ghana has to double check an applicant's bank account with the bank? You people shouldn't talk as if we Ghanaians are innocent or victims. Do you know how many Ghanaians apply for UK Visas with bank statements containing thousands of dollars in the account only for the British High Commission to find out that the applicant doesn't even have a bank account with the bank in question. We are the architects of our own treatment. We have created an atmosphere of untrustfulness for ourselves. Do you know the fraud rate of Ghanaians here in the UK? I have lived in the UK for over 40 years and there has never been a year that I haven't visited my motherland. Yes, of course innocent people will be caught up in whirlwind but that's a fact of life. If all your documents are authentic what do you have to fear if the British High Commission wants to double check your bank account? I've seen many Ghanaians here in the UK washing cars in shopping car parks who can hardly speak English and sometimes we wonder how they managed to procure a visa to come to this country? Instead of critising the UK & USA Missions why not educate our people to be trustworthy? Trust, after all, is earned. It's not a RIGHT!!! After we created the situation for ourselves, just like our Nigerian cousins, then we start crying wolf. Even your MPs are using their diplomatic status to bring friends and family to the UK. HOW ELSE DO WE EXPECT THE WHITE MAN TO TRUST US? Nonsense Absolute Nonsense.

What I meant was it was these Ghanaians who have no business coming to the UK because they have no qualifications, no skills, no money to set up any kind of business, cannot speak the language who are involved in this kind of connection thing so the British Authorities had to verify the authenticity of the presented bank statements. At least the Chinese people in Ghana who cannot speak the language pay our local people to help them understand the communication. These Ghanaians in the UK I am talking about are not in the same league. Sometimes, as soon as they know you're a Ghanaian they start asking you for help in terms of money and or accommodation. These are the people I'm talking about. If you live here in the UK and you see these Ghanaians you will be very sad and ask the same questions I'm asking. Anyway Emmanuel, as stupid as I may be, I'm a Chartered Insurer, a Post Graduate in Risk Management, a Registered Mental Nurse and a qualified Counsellor. Besides I have written seven books. I don't think a stupid person can do all that. You see, it is this type of arrogance that we are still backward in our country Ghana.

Most Ghanaians notoriously forge documents to apply for visas. The foreign embassies are not as stupid as those stupid shallow minded cotton-stuff brainless clueless people think they are. They will continue to inquire documents behind your backs because most of you are bunch of dishonest pathological liars. Period. This is a fact which our leaders know but try to turn the other way. How much does the US Embassy extort from Ghanaians every working day? The amount will blow your heads off. Solution? Lets also charge the same amount for their citizens who wish to 'visit' the Homeland. Simple!!! Our leaders only don't have the will to do this. The Visa fee is for the processing not issuing of the visa. So an application accepted or rejected amounts to the same charge. Get your facts right, and reason intelligently. If people with diplomatic passport can present falsified documents to the embassies then what do you expect their reactions to those with ordinary passports? Ghana is ONE big nation of LIARS and CHEATS. Stop lying and others will treat you with the respect you deserve. I am a Ghanaian, however, if I am in charge of the process more will be reject than they are doing now. Anytime, I invite people I have to give the embassy letter from HR department with phone numbers and years employment; a official letter from my bank stating my balances with bank, copy of mortgage title, current utility bills and residency documents. So what is this guy talking about? They do verify if they suspect, at one time they called my cell. The Chinese issue is your own complex, ask your government to fix it not China. Fix your other problems as other countries have their own deplorables to take deal with.

Look around you and see the level of our mediocrity and inferiority complex towards them. It's obvious they will take advantage of our stupidity bred in us by means of our mentally enslaved so-called education system we have in place.

We should treat each countries nationals as they treat ours. We should be hospitable but not overly so when there is no reciprocity.

For the last 1200 years since Islam came to West Africa followed the coming of Europeans in the last five hundred years we have lost power to Europeans and Arab Volks in the guise of slavery, colonisation and religion, (Islam and Christianity). This has been exacerbated by the corrupt and disorganised way our system works. We need a cataclysmic revolution.
