The biggest stumbling blocks facing Ghanain children at the early stages of their education from kindergarten thru JSS/Senior High School is inadequate nutrition.Send a child to school hungry and that child will not prosper bookwise. It's also that when babies are born they be properly fed for the sake of proper brain development before they hit the books. Finally, a question for everyone. Why is that sub-Saharan Africans perform so poorly at the Olympic Games?

"Prof" the 400,000 that wrote their WASSCE in 2016 have not even finished first year at the university, so how do you use that as a statistic and compare it to the 100,000 that graduate from the tertiary institutions? Is the 2016 wassce figure averagely the same over the years? The problem in my unprofessorial opinion is not the number of graduates, but the quality. If people like you are full professors, how can we have the needed resources to develop this country? quality is key and it starts with you and your husband.

GERMANY IS A GOOD EXAMPLE OF A NATION WHICH PLACES EMPHASIS ON BASIC EDUCATION AND AS RESULT COMES TOPS IN ITS DEVELOPMENT. PROF. Without a solid foundation,a person's education will be stalled.
it is necessary to focus on primary and secondary education, but not to the detriment of tertiary education.
This is why all this talk about providing free SHS education is misplaced. The money from fees which could have been used to support senior secondary education is not available. The shortfall in funding will have to be found from elsewhere, making less available for other parts of education, including tertiary.

the lady has spoken the truth. education must ultimately equip the student to be capable of doing something with his or her knowledge whether employed by someone or self employed. this capacity is acquired at post secondary levels of education and not at basic level.
comments and attacks against this female prof show clearly that our higher education graduates are half baked literate. the lady did not say basic education is not important, She said OVEREMPHASIS.
Whats the sense in attending best kindergarten to senior high school and finally finding yourself in say mechanical engineering school that has no single engine to practise with or a college of mechanised agriculture that has no single tractor, planters and harvesters to learn with ? the only importance of basic education is to know how to read, write and know some basic science and maths theories. higher education should be able to teach how to get specific tasks such as building a house, fixing an engine, ploughing farm land, designing and making clothes, diagnosing and treating patients, making furniture etc. you realise that even some of these tasks can be learned by people who did not attend primary school at all so why OVEREMPHASIZE on basic education instead of furnishing our post basic education with all the equipment that will make us know how to get jobs done ?
The minister of education should listen to prof Mrs Alabi.

Many guys here are praising and endorsing mediocrity. What has this fake Professor said that it makes sense and many of you are applauding? It shows how low IQs of generation of people we have in this country and manning affairs. Thanks@ Atukuor and Kwobia. Shameless and brainless people with fake and useless academic accolades and kokoase titles. Goski claims only 100,000 students graduate representing 25% enters tertiary education with 400,000 sitting for WASSCE. How can you build a house and put everything in, on and around it without a land? How can you build a house without good and better foundation to make it strong? You spoil our education systems and send your children to overseas schools and they end up coming back to Lord it over us again right? Like recycling thd system. Hahahahaha! It won't work this time and present generation wate! This time, those down here after education won't let them occupy higher posts again. Even God has cursed and destroy your descendants because you are a bunch of criminals, thieves, corrupt people. Shameless woman holding a unmeritorious title. You women want to go further but just look at an ilk saying rubbish? You present generation of leaders and people manning various offices and affairs have no brains. You had the best of education which was even, free scholarships and best of job opportunities which were readily at your doorstep the very day you had your graduations and handed your certificates in 60s, 70s ,80s and early 90s but you are destroying everything in this country including our education systems. Have destroyed this country and anything your hands can lay hold on. Either monies, cars, assets, land and any resource. Useless, satanic, corrupt, thieves, cursed and ungodly of crop of generation. Unproductive PhD and Prof titles and heads.
