Having traveled across almost all countries in west Africa, I can emphatically state that this vision is gonna remain an illusion if not a complete wishful thinking. The main obstacle in having this realized has to do with our primitive and greedy security forces, who always take advantage of naïve illiterate traders . Most of these ratifications and trade 'what what' are just mere platforms for overzealous politicians to hobnob with each other and propagate their own shady agendas. For about 4 decades, we need to go through some serious self-instropections as a people and search for answers why just a simple issue of trading among ourselves should be such a big deal. Could this also be attributed to the mere fact that we being blacks?. We've been talking about trade liberalization for close to 50 yrs yet moving good from lagos to liberia by road still remains such a hustle...
