i used to take you serious, but sitting in the COMFORT ZONE of the white man's country and habouring such Venom and Discontent for a High Commissioner who is speaking to the facts is NOT only APPALLING but ALSO Despicable.
Regrettably, you sound like one of those inadequate Africans who think the white man is responsible for any and everything negative that the black man does or that happens to him.
May be you should just leave the white man's comfort zone and come and live in this ZOO we call a state and you would know why some of us see things differently and applaud the British Commissioner for being bold to have the chips fall where they may.
Your likes don't help matters in extricating Africans from our Corruption-infested and Fraud-induced lifestyles.
Mr. Professor, with all due respect to your professorship, I see you as a very BIG PART of the problem.

Just think about it, Ghana shouldn't allow ex MPs and even serving MP to use diplomatic passports in the first place. MPs are not diplomats.
Whichever way you look at it, you can bet your last penny the 10 year ban will stay and the dishonourable MPs can't bribe or bluff their way out of it. I feel sorry for the relatives they brought to the UK because their deportation is unavoidable.
These MPs make life difficult for everyone.

Ben how do you respond to this damaging and repugnant comment on your good self as the officer in charge of the Embassy. The Prof is saying You superintended over that shady visa acquisition because the concerned MP's supposed trip to the UK at the time were completely private, yet you or your reps allowed them to use diplomatic passport for the acquisition of the visas. Come on Ben. I know you will not let this go without a reaction, knowing you to be vociferous and a critic. Now the mentioning of one Appiah as a go between the MPs and your office in the shady deal is laughable. Definitely your own staff at the Embassy are in collusion with your staff in the visa musketeering.

Stupid professor indeed. How did you become a professor with such a low thinking capacity. Professor with a low IQ, hahaha.
The UK embassy will accept any form of genuine passport if it is used for obtaining a visa. The diplomatic passport does not have clause exceptions that allow candidates to include their family members on travels. Any passport will suffice for including family members on travels just as the diplomatic passport.
The crux of the matter is that the MPs were thieves and deceived or betrayed the trust the UK commissioner had in the MPs as professional people with integrity and as such, will be compelled to facilitate the return of their family members to Ghana before their visas expired. The UK commissioner trusted the MPs to be people of integrity and granted permission to their family members to visit UK.
It is not because of their diplomatic passports - any other general passport would achieve the same purpose if you have money to cater for the intended stay or duration of their visits.
Come again "professor" and mind your business - stay in the classroom and leave politics alone. The commissioner did not err in this case. It was trust that was betrayed by the MPs.

The Speaker must certify their applications that they are on official business. This, it seems to me, removes the freedom they had with the situation as before, which left them with the freedom to manage the applications
The whole process has become more cumbersome and beaurocratic

Prof. ASARE has every right to state an opinion. But to state such opinion that is so lopsided, has become the bane of African intellectual and especially the so called lawyers of Ghana who mostly would have qualified from the "Makola" law school and proceeded to make a fortune at home and sometimes abroad.
I wonder what the Prof Asare did not understand in this matter but tries to rather send the Ambassador to the cleaners.
Prof. your blaming the High commissioners is totally uncalled for and very regretable.
Using such high position to blame the High Commissioner only worsens the case for all citizens of Ghana and not only those carrying Diplomatic passport.
I had forth vehemently throughout the early 80s against the British Government's or Embassies rate of refusal of visas only to make good money to pay staff and also build a new Embassy in Ghana. Something that was started by the British Embassy and mimicked by most Western Embassies later until today.
Albeit, in recent years Ghana's own democratic credentials and development in recent years has stemmed the tide of bad treatment of visa applicants a bit for the better.
So for you blaming the High Commissioner for doing a shoddy job is not going to be taken lightly and can only hurt your own compatriots.
I am informed that there are at least three types of passports issued to Ghanaians; regular, service and diplomatic passports.
From the above stipulation alone and for you as a lawyer should know that anyone with Diplomatic passport has total immunity based of Trust of the beholder.
So when a legislator who is honored with such a passport and receives a visa not for himself alone but for a grown daughter for whatever purpose we have not been told and absconds on the terms of the visa issuance, that is fraud.
The definition of fraud and research on fraud have been researched mostly in the 90s onwards, and I have attended conferences especially in Canada about this canker.
And I know that fraud is fraud because the criminal out wits the victim based on trust.
So Mr Professor Lawyer ASARE I know you do not need British visa for anything but please you have no locus to blame the British high commissioner or any of of his employeea for the wrongs the legislators have commited.
Because in taking that posture you will only be making matters difficult or worst for not only legislators, but the executive, the judiciary and the whole citizenry.
