Whether these small scale farmers are involved or not this scheme is bound to fail. You people don't get it, do you? The reason so many people are jobless and poverty is so severe in Africa is because our politicians (all African leaders) have over the years relied on farming (small scale) as an alternative to provide the masses with employment. But you guys will agree with me that most of these small scale farmers do not even have enough food to feed themselves and their families, and the situation has always been like that since Adam.

Prof Dittoh has a point with respect to the small holder farmers and generally more focus and attention would help scale up their production capacity.
It would not fail but my reading from the Prof has to do with the long term sustainability of the program long after the NPP exists office.
The role of the small holder farmers will be extremely important in that regard, and a very comprehensive program to involve and entrench the role of the small holder farmers will be key. If we get it right at the outset, the benefits will be massively unprecedented. It is a very excellent program and Ghana must get it right. It is a make or break situation and it must be done right.

Prof.pls did u actually listened to the sector minister on Adom fm on 20th April 2017 when Kofi Adoma granted an interview with him?.If u had listened i think u wouldnt have made ur comment in the first place.Bcos he made clear that the small scale farmers are the target group bcos they already have their lands. And interviewer asked wheather they were going to do on big commercial farming and the minister was emphatic by saying NO,cos their target farmers for the first phase of the programe was the very small scale farmers. So mr prof ur suggestions have been addressed already by the well thought programme initiators so u are LATE prof

What did prof ditto say wrong here? He was only reacting to a statement made by the director of MOFA in the northern region to the effect that small holder farmers are not the target of the new program. He has supported the program but only expressed fear that it might fail if we fail to include the small holder farmers, and that was his contribution. Do people really read the stories before commenting or they have just developed the penchant in insulting especially their teachers. If u can type to insult professors on this platform then thank ur teacher/professor.
