Why don't we plant water posts in residential and business districts.First we dig a narrow water well and put a metal post on it.That is how the developed world does it.

IF this is what the national service can do in time of emergency, then we are really a pathetic nation.

This is smart thinking. If there is water in the pool and they have to go and refill their tender, which one is faster? Always criticising for the sake of criticising, Foooooolish commentator

Do you know that the pool water contains chlorine? Try mixing chlorine water and fire and see what happens. Ghana is a failed state!

Fire service has been complaining all these years and here you are, doing propaganda. Go to Prestea, Tarkwa, Sekondi-Takoradi and other areas, an example is what has happened at Cape Coast and you will realize that no fire tender works. We crate offices, pay people as workers only to know there is no work for them to do when there is emergency. What kind of country is this.

Fighting fire with water from a hotel pool is an accepted practice worldwide especially in Europe.
If there is a wet riser system where the fire protection pipes are under constant positive pressure, the break and storage tanks serving these risers are deliberately under sized due to the presence of swimming pool.
If it's done correctly, the pumping systems are synchronised so that the water from the pool is used after the water from the storage tanks are depleted.
In these times of water conservation and sustainability, this has become the best practice.
Check the likes of Holiday inn and Movenpick, this is the exact system they have in place there.
