Most governments and companies borrow to finance projects , but the question Ghanaians should be asking is, how much is the interest rate or in the case of bonds, the yield on these loans?
If the Government is paying between 12% to 24.5% interest rate or yield on the borrowed money, then Ghanaians will continue to suffer because domestic banks will prefer to loan to the government which is paying higher interest rates with reduced risk than to loan to individuals and businesses.
End result, prices of goods and services will become more expensive thus increase in the cost of living, and diminishing standard of living for Ghanaians.
Mahama's administration was issuing bonds at 24.5% yield and for the Akuffo Addo Government to start issuing bonds at 19.0% is insane.

You are just being mischievous in the sense that your party failed to tell Ghanaians the true state of the economy:
1. NDC that shameless party failed to tell the IMF that there was a National Debt of Ghc7billion about $2.5billion and Ghanaians were not told either
2.You hid $14million Vice President bungalow from us
3. You sold to Ghanaians Ameri power turbines for $510million instead of $340million
Do you realise the graft? Where do they get money for projects? When 74% of every foreign exchange earned goes to pay Mahama useless Ghc113billion loot and share debt.

The $14 billion is even small,he should have listen to Mr Bond and borrowed $200 billion.Late Mills Borrowed $10 billion for STX affordable housing and security residents. The only thing was mills did was cut sod and the test is history.NDC also borrowed $1.2 billion from African development bank of Norway for rehabilitating of eastern corridor railway and they also secure $900,000 for the same project and they stole all the money.According to our most corrupt president in Ghana history John Dramani Mahama every president borrows so NPP is entitle to borrow.NDC borrowed billions and provide every little and loot the rest.NPP is borrowing to develop the country.

One good thing about domestic borrowings that the money still circulate within the country. it also helps to ease pressure on demand pull inflation..
Moreover, let wait and see what becomes of it.

NPP is in power please retrieve all that money. Can we please see documentaion on Maaama's hotel in dubai. Haba. Nkrumah was branded a thief. When he was overthrown nothing was found in his bank account. His family was taken care of by the Egyptian govt. becos he had no personal money to take care of his own family. The unsubstantiated statements against past officials must stop. Or better still, take them to court and jail them if they stole while in office. We are tired. Haba Gh.

Please educate this MP that it is not every loan that adds to the debt stock of a nation. There is something called re-profiling, that enables you either defer the maturity of your loan, or re-finance expensive loans with cheaper ones.
