i want to increase our cocoa production , increase our export earnings and rake in more foreign reserves to save our currency. it is a known fact that cocoa grows better in forest reserves due to the shady canopy of the reserve created by the trees. Is Forestry really serious ? We leave the best lands and just suffer and talk a lot on radio and television. Forestry can actually allow and regulate farmers into cocoa farming withln the reserve and Forestry can also rake in some income. But this must be regulated and well regulated.

The issue is, did they used only one month to do cultivation. Where were them when they started.
You see the incompetent issue we talked about.
Now the good government has come and wont tolerate any bad work either than that, you will be sacked.
Lets rally behind the new government so we can move forward.
If he succeeds, Ghana has succeeded but if he fails ....
God bless our homeland Ghana.

Yes, cocoa farming is useful for the economy but it is illegal and criminal to engage in farming activities in Forest Reserves. The Forestry workers did nothing wrong to burn down the farms. My worry is that the forestry workers are complicit in this illegality. I am sure they extorted money from the farmers and looked the other way. There is a new head of the Forestry Commission who may be insisting for the right thing to be done. The farmers and the forestry workers must be made to face the law. People have taken the law into their own hands for too long. Similar activities took place in Subriso Forest Reserve near Tepa during Rawlings time, ('revolution' period) that destroyed the reserves. I'm told the soldiers that went there joined in to grab the forest for farming activities.
