Who ever did that should be arrested immediately. what on earth went wrong, for them to cut d kid's face like that. U may call it tribal marks or whatever ,it is barbaric,cruel,torturious and a crime against humanity.please refer those who did that to a psychiatrist immediately.

  Dr Akwasi Osei have been knocking at the door of former President Mahama to renovate Accra Psychiatric hospitals and up grade standards but I doubt whether this was achieved under Mahama who was authorising the the procuement of 4 by 4 Land Cruiser for his MPs rather than spending money in renovating all the mental health hospitals which has been crying out loud for help for the past decade.

  Dr.Akwasi Osei orchestrated the dismissal of a colleague doctor on the basis that he refused to have further assessment and treatment for a so-called possible delusional disorder.This was a doctor who was subjected to all manner of abuse and atrocities by the Medical Superintendent of Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital,Dr.Pual K Ntodi because of personal differences with him.The young doctor had a nurse instigated to inflict severe bite injuries on him.Whiles he was gagged up from talking to the media with threats of sanctions by the Ghana Medical And Dental Council,the nurse was allowed on radio station by the MD to peddle falsehoods,claiming he was suffering from a mental illness.The doctor had all his promotions and salary arrears withheld for years prior to the callous sacking meted out to him.He was deprived of a bungalow forcing him to live in a dilapidated bungalow without light,water and leaking toilet that frequently spilled raw sewage into rooms.As if that was not enough he was forced to have as many as 4 psychiatry assessment and was finally referred to a clinical psychologist in Korle-Bu.A final Report by the Clinical Psychologist concluded he did not have any mental illness further charging management of the hospital to be fair in their dealings with him devoid of prejudice.This was after he was deprived of finishing his final rotation in O and G having being described by the HOD there,Dr.Agyemang as a social miscriant.When a bribery scandal killed a patient because she could not afford an illegal fee of Gh.C50 published in the media,he was astonishingly accused by the MD as the wolf who leaked the story.He was subsequently dismissed by the MD at the level of the hospital despite not being his employer.The doctor took his case to CHRAJ,Western Region and won compelling the MD to reinstate him and produce a copy of the Medical Report on his mental status that was kept away from him for years.Peeved by this the MD connived with the heirarchy of GHS to have the doctor dismissed.A letter from the Chief Psychiatrist Dr.Akwasi Osei who doubles as the CEO of the Mental Health Authority requested the doctor present himself for further psychiatry assessment.The doctor replied in writing that he has had as many as 4 psychiatry assessment and that there was a final report from a clinical psychologist that cleared him as having no any mental illness.He also made the argument of being abused and maltreated by the head of the hospital management,the MD and provided both documentary and pictorial evidence to back his claims.In spite of all these, the GHS technically dismissed the doctor through an indefinite suspension with the excuse that he refused assessment and treatment for what the GHS in a letter signed by then Director General Ebenezah Appiah Denkyira termed as 'possible delusional disorder'.The doctor has been jobless since his dismissal in December 2012 with a family to cater for.The case has been gagged up in the Human Rights Court 2 in Accra with the victim of a heinous act of atrocities going to agonizing pain and fustration.If the Chief Psychiatrist and the CEO Mental Health Authority can connive to use his position to victimize a colleague professional with a mental illness,based on which he was dismissed,then we are living in a very interesting Country.One wonders if it is the same Chief Psychiatrist who championed the implementation of the Mental Health Act with the sole objective of protecting persons with mental disability from abuse and violation of their fundamental rights including the right to work and earned living.One wonders if it was the same Chief Psychiatrist who was in court defending one Charles Antwi and rightly so, jailed for attempted assassination of the former president as being mentally unstable.Why will the same person connive to falsely implicate a colleague doctor,dismissed him from work and deprived him of his livelihood for years?Is it not an obvious attempt to maim the young doctor mentally and possibly kill him through psychological torture or suicide on very personal grounds against ethics and professionalism?It is only in Ghana this will happen.This case is currently pending at Human Rights Court2,Accra.
