Kasoa Interchange to be closed for works

The Kasoa Interchange will be closed from April 4th-8th The Kasoa Interchange will be closed from April 4th-8th

Queiroz Galvao, the construction firm in charge of the Kasoa Interchange in the Central Region, will be closing the interchange and some other adjoining roads for construction works to be fully completed, Tuariq Amadu, Public Relations Officer for the firm, has revealed.

According to him, the road will be closed from Tuesday April 4 to Saturday April 8.

Speaking in an interview with Chief Jerry Forson on Ghana Yensom on Monday April 3, Mr Amadu said: “Tomorrow we are doing a diversion of the road to enable us complete the project and latest by Saturday we should finish with the work to allow the vehicles to use the main road.”

He revealed also that “parts of the Obom road” joining the main interchange will also be closed to users.

He further appealed to hawkers who have taken over the streets to move to enable the work to be undertaken.

“Because we don’t have any political authority at the assembly as at now, the traders have moved back onto the streets. Just last week some of the traders were knocked down by vehicles and that was an eyesore,” he revealed.

“The construction project is meant to reduce the travelling time on the road. If you spent three hours to journey to Kasoa, now within 30 minutes you will be able to drive through Kasoa and so we are appealing to the traders to move back for us.”
