When Kuffour started with the Health insurance scheme, he was so much opposed that it will not be practicable. Yet when it started, many in the opposition were among the first to register themselves and their families for cards before Kuffour himself could register. Some people are against anything even if it can help the country for the sake of political expediency. I hope you shall not let your family members benefit for the Free Education program from September.

Even Europeans who have stable economies can not fund completely free SHS. SHS students don't live in boarding schools in Europe. Every are have a school nearby where children study and return home to eat, this is exactly why Mahama was building schools everywhere. Nana has come to mess up everything.

Free education is in existence in the US and some European countries and I know this for fact. My kids went through the public school system and I did not have to pay a dime. With the support of people like you, free education program can be achieved.

I taught at Ghana Secondary school in Tamale before and I can confirm that Northners do not pay for Boarding and lodging. They may pay for sports, library and computer. Prove to me if I am wrong. Southners pay for everything ...

I taught at Ghana Secondary school in Tamale before and I can confirm that Northners do not pay for Boarding and lodging. They may pay for sports, library and computer. Prove to me if I am wrong. Southners pay for everything except the very few who have CMB scholarship which almost is dead now. When I taught there, students who did not have mattresses and blankets were even given some. They did not pay for furniture fees. Do you know Boarding and Lodging fees are the most expensive and it prevents some Southners from going to SHS. Tell me the kind of fees students at schools in the North pay and compare it to the South.
Why some Northners do not go to school, especially the girls, is due to the early age marriage system. Some girls I taught left school after Second year to go and get married. With the boys, some have to help their parents with farm work. Some parents,especially among the moslem communities sometimes do not send their kids to school because of the fear that they can become Christians. In places like Tamale and a few big towns they go to school. As for the villages, a lot of them do not because of the reasons I have given.
The Free education should be for all if it means people paying a special tax for kids to go to school.
Back to the free boarding and lodging, do you remember last year schools in the North did not open on time because the government had not paid for their feeding and Mahama had to cough money from somewhere to pay arrears for one year. Ask minister for education, bawumia and Mahama if I am wrong.

He never promised to build new boarding facilities ok, he said it explicitly that those students in the existing boarding facilities will enjoy it freely and those in the day schools will enjoy free a lunch. We have the same system in the US. Don't compare our abilities to make things with the Europeans because if we Africans with our abundant natural resources take prudent steps to develop our economies, we shall experience such an unprecedented development that will shift the next civilization and industrial revolution back to Africa after more than 10,000 years in the wilderness. After all we Ghanaians first implemented the Free Universal Health Insurance before US passed that law and trust me, there nothing that suggests that the US health insurance program is perfect ok?. Just like any new system the Americans are still struggling with the implementations, nevertheless they know that eventually they can bring it to the impeccable standard. So just give credit to the Kuffour Administration for making it possible for us to be the first country on the West African sub region and the fifth on the whole continent of Africa to enjoy that privilege. After all your Mahama in one of his speeches said that "we have to admit that we can never be like the Americans and the Europeans so we should appreciate what we have". To my understanding, that was an admission of a failure. China was a poor and undeveloped country just 40 to 60 years ago, the Chinese depended on the paddy field rice cultivation at that time as the source of their foreign exchange earnings. If today after less than half a century, China has become the second biggest economy in the world without the abundance of natural resources that we have in our country, why can't we aim higher than the Chinese.

Nana, the most exuberant president with highest massive electoral victory will help develop the neglected Ashanti region to put NDC and their ewes - togolose to shame .
