In an environment where ethical principles work, This guy would never have been appointed a central Bank governor. Square pegs in round holes for political expediency must end.

His economics background is weak and an expert in governance is not what we need as a governor of the central bank. His independence is also questionable given that he has stood for political positions in the past.

Recently, the deputy governor of the bank of England was forced to resign for failing to disclose significant family relationships that could raise potential conflicts of interest. By that omission she was deemed incompetent and unsuitable for the post. She was forced to resign when it was found that her brother works in a senior position at Barclays Bank that she didn't disclose.
