  It is a very sad state of affairs when a newspaper can tarnish the image of the 6 persons in such a manner. It is rather well known that senior officer and junior staff alike were victimised and transfered to distant areas by the Chief Fire Officer as punishment at the slightest hint that they were not his YES men. Most people within the Fire Service fear and quietly bear this bullying to avoid also being part of the remote area transfer scheme. Newspapers that do dirty work in such a manner should be sued and forced to explain and defend the publication in court and pay out huge amounts if found guilty to these 6 persons.
