The road is not a bedroom. Why do we blame the motorist all the time and not the pedestrian?

It is only in Ghana that bumps or whatever are constructed on major international roads. If people are knocked down by vehicles,it is because they are careless and do not care about their own lives. You need to educate your people about road safety and how not to cross major highways.Everywhere in the world, once a vehicle is involved in an accident, the first accusation is the driver was speeding no-matter If he was doing/20mph.We all need to know and understand that roads and highways are there for vehicles to take people to and fro for the country to develop. It's time we stop this nonsense of people taking the law into their own hands and leave roads and highways to serve the purpose for which they are constructed. How can government be accused of not doing the roads, only for the same people to turn around to destroy the roads.

IN GERMANY, THEY DON'T CONSTRUCT HIGHWAYS THROUGH THE CITY CENTERS. THEY SHOULD BE CONSTRUCTED OUTSIDE THE CITY LIMITS SO PEOPLE SHOULD TRAVEL FROM THE CITY TO JOIN THE HIGHWAYS.

Unfortunately the City planners have ignored all that. WE didn't make allowance for expansion, influx of cars and even the population; and land earmarked for all of that has been sold to private individuals that is why we cannot compare our planning to that in the West. Once they earmark land for particular development, it stays forever and any changes are put out in the public domain for the public to debate the issue.
Can you imagine that being introduced in the Third World where everybody is "Oga boss"?

Until the last 10-15 years, there was only a hamlet or little cottage at the K'dua side of the junction but once the road was modernised and re-directed from the Kibi side, then all these people migrated to the current junction and gradually turned it into this township of hawkers who have this nasty habit of chasing vehicles and carelessly criss-crossing the highway just to make a sale! The Highway Authorities should therefore ignore this ignorant bunch of so called youth and fence off the roads with, at best, subways or bridges for crossing if they can find the funds!

Unfortunately people have to make a living under very harsh and dangerous conditions like that one.
That unfortunate situation can be rectified by creating laybys on sections of the road where motorists can park and passengers buy their needs.
Ghana Highways have a duty to create a safe environment if the people have an advocate to insist on it. They CANNOT IGNORE THEM as you suggest
