  You see, the political system at the time, in order to promote the new system, intentionally suppressed the old system to create the impression that the new system is better and this is how they did it:
  1) Because the SHS graduates could not pass the mandatory entrance exam that came along with the new system, the government assembled all the SHS graduate at the various university campuses to be retaught for the entrance exam and when that failed, the then PNDC/NDC government adopted a new system by deliberately leaking exams questions some few days to the sitting of entrance exams. The leakage were so rampant that if you need leaked questions all you need to do is to walk straight to Mokola Market. Out of embarrassment, the government scrapped the entrance exam.
  2) SHS graduates did four years whiles A Level graduates did three. At level 100. SHS graduates are taught courses in SHS syllabus. This makes them score high grades and so by the time they meet the A'Level students in Level 200 their GPAs are already very high and so as they go along the assumption is that, after all, the SHS graduates are better than the A'Level graduates

  OUR PUPLIS IN THE JHS ,SHS, STUDENTS IN THE UNIVERSITIES ALL SPEND SO MUCH TIME IN USELESS ACTIVITIES LIKE BIBLE STUDIES THAT THEY DO NOT BOTHER TO UNDERSTAND WHAT IS BEING TAUGHT IN SCHOOLS. RELOHIOUS STUDIES MUST BE ABOLISH ...

  I am a Christian, SU member, Ghafes member, PENSA member, Church of Pentecost Elder. I did all these while a student and continue to that today. Students would have to make time to study rather than being on Phone and Internet All day. O level, A level, Bsc, MSc, PhD. Sure have friends at all high levels of Gov't and society in Ghana who had similar experiences I am talking about. It is not the religion in schools.

  I once met a guy who attended one of the best SHS' in the country and proceeded to the university and did mathematics. I had a chat with him and during our conversation I realised he doesn't know the capital of Burkina Faso. He did not even know the currency spent there. I told myself, wow, this kind of question will never beat a form four leaver who will even go ahead to tell you when that nation had independence and the name of their first leader. This is the kind of information that equipped our hustlers of old who ventured in territories they never dreamt of and today they are sending remittances back home to boost the economy of Ghana.

  Idiotic, sycophantic so-called men of God. How educated are you yourselves to audit the quality of the JHS and SHS system? Instead of focusing your energy on misleading the public, get closer to God and follow his dictates and stop the deceit you've all become known for.
  
  There are many excellent graduates from both the O/A level system and JHS/SHS system. Equally, there are many poor quality graduates from both systems that leave much to be desired. Scrapping the SHS/ JHS system is not the solution, resourcing these schools to deliver, ensuring good parenting and refocusing the attention of students on what matters the most is what is required. Certainly, our so-called men of God can use their pulpits for the latter instead of extorting money and misleading the populace.
