What are Ghanaians going to benefit from a national cathedral? We want good hospitals, roads, drainage system, jobs for our youth and not a cathedral.

Ever since the days of K Nkrumah, the French had instructed Houphet to be his "closest " opposition and this has endeared the UP family to him. They took council with him dabbled with apartheid South Africa and Israel at the time all Africans were boycotting Israel . The NPP always quote the French dominated Cote d'Ivore as an example to emulate. Nana as a foreign minister under K4 had enlisted Ghana into the Francophone nations on a quite side as well.
So Houphet's bigger than life basilica he had built for catholics who are a mere 6% of the population of CI is something Nana see with some level of envy.

Cote d'Ivoire's Catholic population is about 20 percent, according to the 2015 DHS surveys, not 6 percent.
I do find the cathedral highly unnecessary, but I don't see the correlation to Houphet Boigny.

Building a national cathedral is not a pririority.Where is the money for free SHS?.The Ghana govt should leave religious business to private individuals. How stupid can politicians sometimes be.Honest!

For this project, I think it's not necessary and again the support government gives to Muslim is also another issue. The president should misuse state funds on these unnecessary projects respectfully.

The Christian council were bent of seeing NPP come into power just because of this cathedral the npp promise them. They became politicians on our airwaves when NDC did wrong but quite when npp did the same. Less than two months in office, this thing is happening. Ghana will never progress if this things continue . The most annoying thing is, with all the churches and noise making in our communities, corruption is still growing each single day . Christians should be ashamed of themselves.
NPP ATTORNEY GENERAL!!!!
No need for yet another Cathedral.
