Dr sorry to say, the mental health service in Ghana needs very good leadership of which you are not providing. It not the matter of the state of the art buildings. Mental health world wide are running away from building such buildings , and instead concentrating or community base care. What has happened to the Mental Health Commissions that you set up in Accra. Got monies from some donor countries, this was to support the implementation of the Mental Act that was passed. I vividly remember you saying in news paper that , you will get the police , council and get rid of the mentally ill in the streets of the capital into PICU an intensive treatment unit, and that within 5 to six months they will be well to return to their family. These came and past . Some of your ultracies over the air on mental health make me wonder if you really understand concept of mental health. For example how can a psychiatrist say l will get rid of the mentally ill on our streets take then to hospital and treat them within a period. Are forcing to treat them or they are taken as informal patients. The Mental health board though recommended by donor countries must be abolished

Ghanaians like any other Africa country are either scared to talk about mental health , hence they do not follow the trend of events. Instead the Doctor is hailed as a messiah, . The mental health board having being in existence more than a year, all they do is sitting and planning an end, and are paid allowances. SAD

Why will we go for a loan of thousands of dollars to build a presidential palace when we cant take care of our people when they need medications and mere health care infrastructure.
