Ghana Education Service must move in to ensure that the students are safe and properly taken care off until the situation is resolved. They must also institute a program to inspect and audit all schools in Ghana after the end of each term to ensure that the schools are safe and the staff are up to date on the curriculum. Some of these small changes will transform our education system more than any amount of money.

So all SHS buildings in the country are collapsing under my friend's leadership? You see why the visionary JDM started the E-Block project?

Please don't blame poor ex-Prez Mahgama. These Ghana Education Services schools were built post independence.
With a lack of maintenance over the years, the building s are crumbling down. This is the same problem even in the West.
We need to form consortiums with the help of Old Students Associations, to tackle these problems.
To tell you our generation has mountains to surmount to deal with these gargantuan problems, will be an understatement!!
The older schools like Mfantsipim, St Augustines, Prempeh do it for their alma mater so please start it.

@Seidu I was in your corner until you decided to compare the Japanese experience to ours.Rainstorms in japan does't sweep 5floor buildings away.Japan is hit by numerous Tsunamis every year and they have adapted. Some of these Tsunami waves are 80ft high with the windforce strong enough to bend a grade 6 steel. We do not have a problem. We need to do is stop the blame game and illogical excuses and get to work.If the Japanese can make their Islands habitable enough to have Ghanaians begging to go there, then by God we should be able to build schools that will not fall down at the slightest deluge or wind.

I suggest that whatever assessment is made should also look at the quality of the materials used and the structure itself. I know it must have been inspected before the Handing Over to the State but you know Ghana, it's not unthinkable to imagine the 'usual' under the Table arrangement to get the approval! This Government should endeavour to put a stop to these things otherwise, May God forbid, a greater disaster would come soon. May the Good Lord Bless Mother Ghana. Amen

How can a building collapsed after 5 years of completion? If schools built by Dr kwame nkrumah in 60's are still resistant heavy wind or rain, how come just 5 years building cant resist the same wind and rain? 10% from top to botton so the contractor instead of using may be 100 bags of cement for the work, he will use 20 bags of cement and add more sand.
