  It is the sickness(inferiority complex)affecting all people of Africa that put pressure on the coach if he is Black African. The people of the world do not have respect for us and that is why none of our African greats has ever been hired to coach a team abroad.
  We have to start to employ our own and support him in thick and in thin, (always bear in mind what we want to achieve-politicians must also know this)

  My only and only problem with Coach Akwasi Appiah is that he is weak and can't bring about discipline in the team. He might be a good coach but with these young boys/players, they can make his work difficult if he is weak.

The GFA should give him the free hand and independence he deserves and he will make a better coach than any of these expatriates. He contributed to building the team more than any expatriate coach of our time. He is well cut for it and all he needs is our support and freehand from the FA.

What were his performance achievements with the team at with the team at AFCON 20012/13?Did you see any tactical transformation during matches? What about his demeanor, general confidence and control of the dressing room? Virtually zilch!!! I can bet that the same people calling for his appointment will not take long to castigate the FA, and call for his sack. As for the rest like the jealous and serial failures like Oti Akenteng, Sellas Tetteh, David Duncan and the rest, the least said about them, the better. They are simply not national team coach materials!!!!

Why should we be glamouring for Kwesi Appiah's return whilst the fact still remains he was the first coach who couldn't control the ego of our boys in a major tournament let alone scored any team outside Africa? Is he the only qualified if indeed we want a local coach? We ought to be mindful if not his return will be a recipe for another disaster.

The fact that he is Ghanaian should not be the only qualifying factor. Please. What about Desailly? We need somebody who can combine discipline with fairness, and can command the respect of both the players, the powers that be and the general public. I do not believe Akwasi Appiah is that person. He may be a good coach, but what is the assurance that he will not be controlled by those in authority? Food for thought.
