Why should the government pay for such money? No one is asking anybody to perform hajj if they don't have the money. This is a waste of national resources.

It appears section of the entire citizenry are given special treatment. Now we have the Zongo ministry to support this useless spending of our meager revenue. The NPP must take a second look of this nonsense

Why do we use taxpayers money to fun Hajj when our children dropping out of school for lack of funding. This is outright nonsense and it must stop now. Why do we have to pamper Muslims and Northerners, as if they are the only poor people in Ghana. These people enjoy free education, they evade tax, and stop governments waste our money to fly them to Mecca only for them to come back as jihadists and terrorist. Nonsense

Sell the NDC multimillion dollar headquarters to offset the hajj debt. Secondly, we need to know how the debt was incurred. Mmoasem ara kwa!

I think the time has come for Ghanaians to speak out LOUD and CLEAR to our Govt to stop this NONSENSE! Why would our tax-payers' money be used to fund someone's pilgrimage? When Christians go to the Holy Land on pilgrimage, who even hears about it, let alone get Government involved to the extent of footing useless bills? The time has come to call spade a spade. We have more and better things to do with our money. Government is currently caught in the web as to where its free SHS funds will be coming from, and here we are thinking of clearing pilgrims' debts!! If they do not have the resources, who forces them to embark on the enterprise. Doesn't the Quo-ran itself say you embark on it when you have the resources? Where are our priorities as a country? I think a pressure Group cast in the mould of AFAG and LMVC should come out and force the government to desist from involving itself in Hajj matters, at least to the extent of putting tax payers' money into it! We are simply sick and tired of this NONSENSE!

I agree government should not use Tax payers money to sponsor Hajj. That would even taint the Hajj.
But where are people getting the idea that government is going to finance the Hajj?

If that's the case then who invented the debt purported owed by the previous hajj board?why should we allow non Muslims insult Muslims making it look like government is the one funding hajj when indeed each pilgrim pays in full?its also a fact that some people paid up last year and yet were no able to perform the hajj. This should tell everyone who think government is sponsoring the hajj to rethink, let me advise the new hajj chairman, this hajj program he's in charge now could be a passport to jennah or jahanam and he should remember that, anybody who accept free ticket from government to perform hajj is only a tourist, his or her hajj ll not be accepted by Allah.

The Ghanaian public is not going to be tolerant of the continuing wastage of public funds.Let the investigative agencies examine the circumstances and get those who caused the loss to pay for their misdeeds. It is not the business of government to conduct and sponsor pilgrimages.Let the relevant religious bodes conduct their own pilgrimages and no state funds should be applied to purely private pursuits. We have to be serious as a nation.
Please IC don't put this under the public purse.
