No one should make politics out of this. The police should be allowed to enforce the law without any fear or favour. A similar behaviour of some students at a secondary school near Elmina nearly lynched the headteacher but police rescued him. This happened last month and it came out that some teachers were behind.

Fatima, please stop your nonsense. The kids were jubilating because of their performance in sports and even though I don't support them blocking the road, it appears from the report that police did not use proper means to disperse a jubilant crowd. It's not like they were rioting, rampaging and looting. There are always some leaders among such student groups that the police could have talked to, or just use only tear gas to disperse the crowd. To follow the students to their dormitories and beat up anyone they saw is barbaric, unprofessional and must be condemned.

I found the suggestion by my learned friend laudable. Yet, upon reading through his commentss, I realized that he was much uninformed of the subject and I will advise that as a lawyer, he ought to check his facts very well before speaking on such sensitive issues. I happened to drive around the scene with my colleague lawyer yesterday it was absolutely bad. Notwithstanding any unfortunate hardship that some of the students might have gone through, the situation could have been extremely bad had the Police not arrived. This is a perennial indescipline that has been occurring every single year and who do those young boys think they are. Anytime they attend such games they cause mayhem. they will disrupt the games at the stadium and demand for the return of their sports equipments being used by the national sports council, subject their fellow competing schools to severe brutalities, take over the streets from stadium down to their school creating huge traffic. The worse of it all is the way they will subject especially saloons cars on the road. Now in their school, am informed that the Canadian government has even withdrawn all the support they had from them in respect of provision of sporting facilities. I pray that the ministry of education probe further into the administration of the school's activities to future occurrence. Any student found culpable must face the recourse of the law!
Vegeance time for NDC Police
