THERE IS NO BEST SCHOOL IN GHANA PERIOD!!!!11!
The only best shs in Ghana is the one willing to admit students with low grades coming from the rural areas who can be transformed to compete with their counterpart at the various universities.
It is no news if Zanetor Rawlings went to wey gey hey.Her father is one of the richest in Ghana.
Go to wey gey hey and check the back ground of the students, you will get to know that it is the highest grades and protocols who have taken over.

I don't blame them, it is Ghanaians who have caused this by putting these empty but pompous bunch into August house.
The duty of the MPs in not to express and encourage that school classicism, which you can clearly see has taken over those who can only brag because of the school they went to, even in this comment area.
I had a cousin who went to Swedru Sec School and did well and went on to Mfantipim Sec.
He was always ashamed to talk about Swedru because of what people will perceive him and yet, will brag about the two years he spent at Mfantipim.
I went to further education with Mfantipim students who were no match to me and I completed with a better award than them.
I went to West Africa Sec School and I am so proud I came out well and managed to further my education not because of what the school's name made me but what some great teachers like Mr Sey, Aka 'Your Nose' and Mr Abu and Mrs Opoti(I hope I got the name right, beautiful and clever teacher)made me.
Ghanaians stand to lose in the bigger world if we continue to marginalize some of our own with this school classicism.
IT IS A SHAME IT CAN EVEN TELL WHO EMPLOYS YOU AND WHAT JOB YOU CAN FIND OR NEVER FIND IN SPITE OF HOW GOOD YOU ARE.

It sad when our MPs would debate about which school is the best in the country. There is no doubt that Wey Gey Hey is one of the best senior high schools in Ghana.
What our MPs should know is the children of Wey Gey Hey were born into families which had the resources to push their children as far as they can go.
What should strike us is that there are several children who are equally bright and smart on our streets, in the villages, and around Kejetia and Kantamanto who also needed that kind of push into life, but could not because of certain circumstances that did not work in their favour.
As we take pride in ourselves about the top schools, we should soberly think and work toward a system which can offer fair opportunities to the disadvantaged children on our streets. They need a push to make them equally productive in national development.
After all, it is not possible for all our children to get to Wey Hey Hey or Achimota. The Minister of Education should endeavour to raise the standard of education in all the schools and also try to give hope to every child, any where in the country, that is, if they worked hard enough they could also achieve their goals in life.
Our MPs have a big task to help in making Ghana a land of great opportunities for the youth.
May God bless the youth in Ghana.

What signal are they sending to children who don't get the chance to attend the so-called good elite schools in Cape coast or those of us who were not educated in such school?
In a year when Ghana is preparing to squander millions of money to celebrate sixty years anniversary of independence, one would have thought the divisions, unfairness, discrimination and corrupt malpractices which are tearing the country apart will be addressed but instead we have our law makers debating which school is better than the other?Pathetic, shameful and too juvenile.
What I do know is because Cape Coast was the capital of the then God Coast, and very typical of the British who always think it's only the capital of a country where people live, all the oldest secondary schools were built there.Since then most schools have been built in other parts of the country which are doing well acadamiccally and it's unfortunate that our MPs who are supposed to know better don't realise that being old doesn't make you better than the young.
I remember vividly during the time of first year university examination(FUE)most students who failed were from the so-called elite schools. It's sickening to be a citizen of a joke country like Ghana for with this shallow perception of our legislators,is it surprising that people living or born in the coastal areas describe others living and born elsewhere as bush people,"Nkruasefo?"
You were educated in one of the old schools with all the vest facilities and conditions and I went to a less previlaged school and passed my final year examination with distinction or excell better than you what makes you better than me?Utter nonsense from our MPs and they should render apology to the nation for such an insulting disrespectfull debate.

I don't want to say our MPs are not serious but we should know that it is not all who get equal opportunities as others get in our so called big schools. Access to learning resources is the primary determinant of learning success. Our focus should be on how we can resource the small schools to enable our children put in their best. Some of the big schools mentioned here have produced over a hundred thousand people due to their years of existence but we can only mention a few names familiar to us. Likewise some small schools have produced about some five thousand people contributing to the nation but are unfamiliar to some of us. Personally I don't believe any school more than 50 years is a small school in Ghana. The best school is our mental faculty and determination. Let's learn from this. Thank you!

No wonder in this century Ghana still remains 100 years back. Very funny nation with hopeless leadership.
WHAT A SHAME....THOSE PARASITES LIVING OFF THE WEALTH OF THE NATION COUNT THEMSELVES THE BEST. NO WONDER THEY WANT BUNGALOWS & STATE VEHICLES ADDED TO THEIR STOLEN PROPERTIES AFTER YEARS OF LOOTING.
KNOWS THE EXCELLENT HIGH SCHOOLS ARE IN THE CENTRAL REGIONS PERIOD. THOSE MINISTERS IN PARLIAMENT WHO DON'T KNOW DON'T KNOW PERIOD
PERIOD. THOSE IGNORANT MINISTERS WHO KNOWS ONLY THEIR VILLAGES WON'T KNOW THAT WESLEY GIRLS IN CENTRAL REGION IS THE BEST GIRLS HIGH SCHOOL
No school cones close. My daughter was in a science class of 32, 25 qualified for medical school.
The first female medical doctor in Ghana was Dr. Susan Ofori Atta. She graduated in 1949. Mary Grant was behind. Please take note. Anther colossus from the Kyebi staple.
Interesting fact. The correlation to the region is highly unnecessary though.
Where did Dr. Ofori Atta train for her medical education, if I may ask?
Should this also be an argument? Nonsense!
No school yet after all no school product has won Noble Prize for academic work. Yes the schools pass well at waec and what next? Over 100years of no Maths Gold medalist or Noble prize in academics is enough to shut up.
Can a medal take you to the university? Please, the major priority is doing well in wassce. And that's what they've got. This is enough to shut u up too.
are they not ashame to be classifying best schools?why wont they bring policies that will make those less schools become same as the so called best ones
