And in this regard, concerning the work of the Administrator General in the transition process and to address the usual bottlenecks with regards to properties of the State, there is the need to create a technological platform where we have a real-time inventory system updated periodically across all ministries, departments and agencies of all properties acquired by the state, donated to the state to ensure a seamless exercise when it comes to the transition process.
This can be fleshed out to make it a very robust and comprehensive platform that takes away all the current controversies involving state property.
We are talking about an elaborate electronic inventory platform across board that is networked and linked with every sector of the administrative structure of governance so we don't have this transition process fraught with so much controversy with officials taking away gov't property and turning around to say it was sold to them when they are caught. And if they are to be sold or are sold eg vehicles, we can account for it diligently.
We need to proactively and technologically address this problem and commit resources to make it work.
We all heard the frustration of the Administrator General about the lack of logistics and personnel as well as resources to carry out his mandate effectively. It should be a thing of the past if we apply ourselves to it, segment the country into three parts in this process of taking stock and inventory of state property with a detailed paper and electronic trail so we have the assurance of protection of gov't property and the security of those who would unfortunately decide to acquire such property.

Besides skills are only useful when the need is there for them to fulfil a role in the development agenda. You don't just hire the most skilled Ghanaian satellite engineer out of India unless you have a space/satellite program that needs those skills.

It will be far simpler and more effective to just advertise the jobs/positions to be filled by competition instead of by appointment.

The constitution should be amended to take the burden of numerous appointments away from the presidency in favour of competitive hiring.

...if you're a techy, how are you to work when you cannot depend upon the electricity to supply your machines? Also, a lot of machines suffer in high-heat, so air conditioning is important...but air conditioning needs electricity.

...where is the broadband for us to do our internet startups?

....where is the environment for us to enjoy our downtime? Ghana's beauty is decimated by a lack of environmental protection, and free-floating plastic bags.

...where are the noise pollution laws so I can sleep and not be bothered by noise at crazy'o'clock in the morning?

For Akufo-Addo to be serious and stop the brain drain, he needs to treat all Ghanaians better by providing a better environment and the very basic facilities for innovation. Simple basics.

Until then, I am sitting pretty in London and New York. Though I'd rather be by the pre-polluted beach I grew up by in Ghana (not the one now which is a wreck).
