Moreover, he is technically a member of the Executive arm of government.How can such a person, though very competent chair a group to investigate the chairman and some members of the same appointments committee. Is that not conflict of interest?

This whole bribery saga makes no sense! NPP commands majority in parliament, so why would anyone think of bribing his/her way for approval? It simply doesn't make sense. NDC better get something worth discussing about, rather than waste people's time. This is just one of their dirty tactics to divert public attention from their imminent corruption charges, court trials and jail term. They just want a way to save time. It's bogus..!!!

Agyarkogate should be investigated by an independent body. There is a perception out there among the citizens of this country that the august and honorable assembly of representatives have in the past engaged in corrupt practices in approving the sale of Ghana Telecom and the acquisition of loans. PC Ofori-Appiah, Martin Amidu have all accused Parliament of corruption. If the executive under Akufo-Addo does not heed the call of the citizens of Ghana to set up an investigation into AGYARKOGATE, independent of Parliament, then he can kiss his own credibility in the eyes of the public goodbye.`

As much as its in the right direction to institute a committee to investigate the bribery scandal, the choice of Joe Ghartey to chair it will not put to rest the bribery scandal. This is because before the committee starts its work, I can say for sure that Aboagye Agyarko will be exonerated and Ayariga vilified. I will have thought a neutral body will have been engaged to do the investigation. If Parliament really want to purge its self of this lingering bribe scandals that have become an albatross then they have to do the right thing. Let a neutral body discharge the duty of investigation so the outcome is fair and accepted by Ghanaians, either NPP or NDC.
