yet, The real issue here is miscarriage of justice in which an innocent man was deprived of his freedom for 15 years by wrongful imprisonment. He has been cleared of any wrongdoing by the courts so there is no room for speculation. What the courts deal with is Evidence. Think about how you will feel losing even 1 year of your freedom and the stigma, let alone 15 years! He should get a good lawyer to fight for remedy through the courts for him. It will not make up for the years lost but it will ease the pain in some way and help him get back to normal life.

This is not a request but the duty of the court to follow through to the end.We now know that this man Asante was wrongly jailed for a crime he did not commit and suffered immensely for it.So who is the father?The court must force the mother(who is no longer a minor) to testify under oath about who the father is.And all male ralatives and residents of her household must be compelled to provide DNA samples to clear them as the possible father to the child.If the court does not act,Mr Asante should get a good lawyer and sue the state to force them to act.There is no statute of limitations on this one.The guilty person must be held accountable in this case.

All I want to hear the teacher Eric Asante asking the girl is to proof whether he ever slept with her, because we are only hearing about the results of the DNA test which doesn't answer the defiling or the rape claims that sent him to jail.
The DNA results is only a paternity proof .it didn't say whether his specimen samples were found on the girl or not.
I advise Eric to give us some clarification sort of the DNA before he make any further request from the girl as well asking for compensation from the state, otherwise he must keep quiet and start all over because he can't eat his cake and have it.

It was then that pressure was mounted on her to name whoever. That was when Eric's name was subsequently mentioned. As time went on, it was discovered that she was pregnant. Why was he insistent on DNA if he knew he had slept with her? Wait till you are falsely accused and you'll understand where he's coming from.

This was not a case of the accused to prove his innocence but rather the state to prove that indeed he was guilty. This was a miscarriage of judgement

Local elders invited my mum, bro, the girl and her teacher. All the assembled urged my bro to confess and accept responsibility. He started asking the girl questions like how did they meet, where did they do it, anyone knows of their relationship etc. She then confessed it was not him but another guy. In the case of the friend, it was a next door neighbor. He was at school and to buy time, the girl named him. He was brought back to answer for his deed. The only thing that saved him was that he was away at boarding house for over three months and could not be the father. This was after his parents had accepted the pregnancy.
