You remember this same Ayariga was the deputy to Betty Mould Iddrissu. When Auntie Batty had a challenge with the Woyome Saga, Mahama Ayariga was very happy and immediately the lady was asked to step aside Ayariga became the defacto winner. Between the time the woman stepped aside and a new substantive minister was appointed, Mahama Ayariga awarded 98 school building contract at five times the contract price and he brought contractors from his native Bawku to execute the contracts. In one instance, the situation was so embarrassing that people started wondering whether Ayariga is a normal human being. Here is a case when Ayariga approached the head of a Catholic SHS in the Upper East Region and informed her to make available land for the building of a new six classroom block. Upon further scrutinity the school administration realised such facilities are meant for primary schools and so politely turned down the request since the school had a well defined plan. Guess what Ayariga did? He immediately contacted Mark Woyongo, who was then the Regional Minister and a native of that town, to force the headmistress to accept the primary school compound in a secondary school. He then brought contractors from his native Bawku to execute the project and six months after the completion of the project the building started developing cracks and now the building has become a death trap. This is the Mahama Ayariga who is making false allegation against a noble man like Boakye Agyarko.

The situation just tells you how corrupt our system is. Why should Agyarko give bribe if he has good intentions to serve his country? And to Muntaka, why should he spearhead this silly act? First, why would Boakye Agyarko bribe the minority ndc for their votes when he doesn't need their votes for approval? Npp has 16-10 majority on this committee and in a situation where you only need a simple majority, npp can use their numerical advantage to send Boakye Agyarko through without a single vote from ndc.

Secondly, the said Muntaka who supposedly shared the money amongst the minority members has denied ever receiving any money so is the Appointment committee leader.

So now every fool can accuse you of a crime and you the accused have to prove your innocence? No, that is not how it is done and the President will not call for Boakye Agyarko resignation today or tomorrow.

Judging (from linguistic analysis point of view) some statements purported to have been made by the seemingly beleagured Minister (unless those statements weren't in fact, not made by the Minister), I'm inclined to believe there was an attempted bribery.

The situation the Minister finds himself now is very distraction, but I don't think he should resign, especially if he firmly believes this is a character assassination, stitch up, smear campaign and stuffs like that. We should bear in mind that "A person is innocent until found guilty". But if found guilty, this man should face prosecution.

Lets face the fact, when Western politicians including leaders continue to resign over slight slip, African politicians remain in power when they err or make an unprecedented unpardonable political mistakes. Isn't because they know no shame?
You are bluffing about living in London if so, you should be aware that we take bribery allegations extremely serious in this country. Even a common political toxic word caused resignation of ex Cabinet Minister Andrew Mitchell to quit as chief whip. In fact, I and many others thought he was too amiable to folks who came on the show to promote Akufo-Addo. And we thought he could have some bias for the NPP and Akufo-Addo in particular. But then, we realized over time that he has a greater sense of fairness in handling all guests to his show than we thought and also, than many other similar shows in the Nation.

Besides, it makes more sense to keep an even keel in how to handle various political candidates before the Elections. But after the Elections, those who won deserve to be scrutinized more.

Even if you were more stupid than stupid itself, I am at a loss as to why you would want to bribe under such circumstances.
Agyarko has a very important job to do at the Energy Min and his intelligence and depth of knowledge of the Min he is going to lead clearly is more than all the Energy Ministers from 2009 to 2016 under John Mahama combined. So one does not know if it is Mahama, KB Asante, the NDC party or who, is afraid of Boakye Agyarko's appointment?
As to Mahama being so corrupt and having messed up the energy sector of Ghana, primary school kids are aware and the world bank need not capture it in a cabinet memo to draw Ghana's attention.
About the Chairman of the Appointment Comm. preventing his comm. sitting from being employed for NDC's propaganda and stupidness as witnessed so far, it is not going to happen.
So NDC as stated must find an intelligent way of fixing their completely buried image mired in the absolute dirt making them the most unattractive political party.
Ghana has moved on and opposition is for them forever. Intelligence is governing Ghana now, period.

He must still be allowed to do his work while the investigations are still going on. To force him to resign at this early age of the case could set a bad precedent that might be exploited by anyone who has a personal ax to grind against Officials.

We must not hasten to impose judgment on anyone accused of wrongdoing, even as we diligently and fairly and serious pursue cases to implement unadulterated Justice for all, until the Courts have so deemed necessary.

In order to avoid the accused tampering with evidence or covertly influencing the on-going investigating process, however, a suspension might be in order, and only if the case directly involves his or her locus of duty.

We must be very careful not use any dirty political schemes and entrapment to deny capable, eligible persons from serving the Nation.
