The NDC does not want this because it go against them. They have threaten court action should any attempt be made to have this done. They just want corruption to continue and we citizen don't want that, period.

If they are serious about this they will make it a life time appointment who can only be dismissed by parliament's majority vote.

We have a country in which judges, including even some in supreme court, take bribes. This special prosecutors won't be any different. We have to first find solutions to why and how people commit these crimes and corruption and get away with them. The main problem is how porously atrocious our records keeping is. We need to employ technology to identify people, track property, resources and transactions such that evidence of crime and corruption is transparent and irrefutable. The RTI bill should be changed to address this. Then this bla bla bla about special prosecutors will actually be meaningful. With good evidence gathering secured, we can amend the constitution to take away presidential indemnity.

At what point in time did Ghana not have competent people to prosecute in our courts? A former AG goes to court to seek confirmation if a contract with the State without Parliament can be deemed a contract? The court says NO. He asks in that case if the State had paid the Wayome for such a contract what must be done? The money must be taken back. He did not ask about who should take it back. He could not take it back he did pay Woyomi. If competent why not ask the court to compel the State to do that? All of a sudden there is clamour for an Office of an Independent Prosecutor, possibly, Act. 71 person. We created CHRAJ ask Emil Short what he has to show. If Amidu is so good let him show it in court from his own chambers.

IF GHANA HAS COMPETENT PERSONS TO BE SPECIAL PROSECUTERS, WHY ARE POLICEMEN,SERGEANTS, CORPORALS,INSPECTORS WHO ARE SUPPPOSED TO PROTECT, ARREST AND CHARGE AND WITHOUT LEGAL EDUCATION AND BACKGROUND,CONTINUE TO BE PROSECUTERS AT THE LAW COURTS OF GHANA.
WHY DONT YOU PROPOSE TO THE GOVERNMENT TO HAVE THESE PEOPLE ASSIGNED TO THE URBAN CENTERS AND DISTRICTS TO TAKE UP THE DUTIES AS STATE ATTORNEYS.
OPAYIN, PLEASE,WHY HAVE WE STILL FAILED TO KNOW WHERE WE ARE AND WHERE WE ARE GOING IN THE 21st CENTURY.
I DOUBT VERY MUCH IF,THE LIVLIHOODS AND LIVESTYLES OF THE PEOPLE IN GHANA WI´LL EVER LEAD TO THE BETTER.
WHY SHOULD THE SO CALLED NOISY EDUCATED WITHOUT TECHNOLOGY AND SCIENTIFIC INNOVATION CONTINUE TO EXPLOIT THEIR FELLOW MEN AND WOMEN IN THE COUNTRY.
SHOULD MINISTERIES AND THE PUPLIC SECTOR BE FILLED WITH THE SO CALLED EMPTY HEADED EDUCATED PEOPLE,WHO HAVE STILL FAILED TO LIVE TO EXPECTATION IN THE ECONOMOC GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT OF GHANA.
HOW LONG SHOULD COCOA FARMERS(THE DONKEYS)OF THE NATION CONTINUE TO EARN THE NATIONS FOREIGN CURRENCY TO SERVICE NATIONAL BUDGETS, WAGES AND SALARIES,IMPORTATION OF COMMODITIES AND FOOD PRODUCTS AND ABOVE ALL EXPENSIVE LUXURY CARS ANF JEEPS FOR THEIR HONEYMOON IN GHANA.
CAN SUCH A PRIMITIVE MENTAITY HELP US TO PROGRESS AND ADVANCE AND TO MEET THE DESTINY OF GHANA.
WE PRETEND TO KNOW, YET WE DO NOT KNOW,ON HOW TO CONTINUE WITH THE STRONG FOUNDATION THAT WAS BUILT BY KWAME NKRUMAH.
THE EDUCATED HAVE DESTROYED EVERYTHING WITH THEIR SO CALLED BUSIA-DANQUAH-DOMBO TRADITION.
HAS THE COUNTRY BEEN BETTER FOR THE PAST FIFTY ONE(51) YEARS SINCE THE ANTAGONISTS AND ANTI ELEMENTS TOOK OVER THE COUNTRY FROM THE CPP GOVERNMEMNT UNDER THE LEADERSHIP OF DR KWAME NKRUMAH OF BLESSED MEMORY.
WE MUST BE VERY SHAMEFUL, DISGRACEFUL, HOPELESS AND USELESS PEOPLE ON EARTH.

The question is what makes Attorney General ineffective in its core responsibilities including corruption matters. The same thing would occur when appoint independent prosecutor. It is the political culture of Ghanaian. It would not work, if anything worse because we are not truthful and God fearing. No matter the procedure for selection and appointing, the ruling party would smuggle a candidate behind close door as their favorite.
