  A bridge over the river Oti at Dambai is long overdue and that is symptomatic of how past governments regard the good people of Volta North and beyond to the three Northern regions.I am particularly disappointed in Mr. Mahama's government which failed to follow through the Kuffuour's program, when they came to power, to fill the yawning gap between the south and the north of the country developmentally, a reason for which the Kuffour government brought a policy to bridge that chasm which they termed Northern Dev. Authority, later turned SADA by the NDC. Prez. Mahama who hails from the north and knows this particular hazardous routes did not do much about them but continually made promises upon promises to send down the crafts deployed at Senchi at the time of the rehabilitation of the Senchi bridge to Dambai and the other to Yeji.If indeed Mahama cared about his brethren in the North he would have paid the Engineers who assembled the Crafts upstream at the Akosombo port to enable them send these crafts to their destinations ASAP.Rather than seeing to all these important issues and many more, Mahama was rather making last minute appointments and promotions, simply to encumber his successor.
  Where is the money for all these going to come from? Folks, let us say it as it is to our leaders lest they continually take us for granted.

  Rivers which are bridgeable and used by hundreds daily for crossing should have permanent bridges constructed as a matter of fact instead of using these dangerous and outmoded ferries! What are we training all these mechanical/structural engineers for if we cannot use them in advancing our national development? Oh blackman just wake up and develop yourself. China wes also slumbering just a few decades back but how come we are now relying on Chinese companies for our heavy construction requirement when we even have ostensibly better educated/trained workforce?? All that is lacking is leadership, of course!!
