THERE NOTHING ENSHRINED IN OUR CONTITUTION FOR THE POSITION OF A SENIOR MINISTER AND BAWUMIA IS AWARE OF THAT, OSARFO MARFO IS THE VICE PRESIDENT WHETHER YOU BELIVE IT OR NOT. WHEN BAWUMIA WAS VIGOROUSLY CAMPAIGNING FOR NPP TO WIN, OSARFO MARFO WAS DRINKING PALM WINE AT AKIM AWISA. BAWUMIA HAS NOW REALISED HIS STUPIDITY. What even baffles me is the fact that certain nominees who would appear and be vetted by the committee are themselves members of the committee. What kind arrangements is this. Napo for instance is a nominee who is to be vetted yet the same Napo is made a member of the vetting committee. This is completely wrong. In future the number should be pruned down to 7 experts or at most 9 to do the interviewing and it should exclude all prospective nominees.

That is an unfortunate statement for someone who believes in the constitutional principle of separation of powers to make.
The people's representatives have a solemn duty to ensure that all the President's nominees for ministerial positions in his administration are properly grilled on their behalf by the legislative branch of government.
Much better for that to be done than for unsuitable individuals to be rushed through the vetting process and end up ruining our country because the Majority Leader thinks the process takes too long.
Too long foe whom? What is too long about MPs doing a competent job vetting those who will be superintending public servants employed to ensure that the working processes of the state machinery run smoothly and efficiently by carrying out tasks assigned to them swiftly at all material times, I ask? Most unfortunate.

Change the constitution or the law to ensure that, after the election and knowing who the president-elect is, the new parliament is sworn in no later than one two weeks before the inauguration. This way the president-elect can send some names to the members who will start all the necessary background checks and questionnaires for the appointees. Also take away the power of the out going president to make necessary last minute appointments if you all love mother Ghana.

Those who are comparing the responsibility of Vice President to a senior Minister are just jockers.Do they know the weight and size of responsibilities resting on the vice president. Now that specific appointments are been carried out in the shaddows of the public, do those who are making vague comparisons about Dr Bawumia and Mr Osafo Marfo know what the vice President is doing\.The President could not do the tedious work assigned to the presidency alone from the beggining of governance without the requisite help of his vice which is more important than what you may think about. The sabotuers of the NDC must shut up to allow Akufo Addo and his Veep have peace of mind to strategise the shattered economy left by NDC and their bunch of shallow minded failures.

Whether the committee is big or small Ghana is not in hurry to pick any how ministers so that the mess continues. Is it not because of the mess you made a lot of noises against the NDC at all fronts, and if yes then why the wolf cry? Is it the Ashanti way of handling national matters? Keep quiet and mentain the bigger size of the committee so that every sitter can hustle the minds of the ministers designate. Period.
