  Dr. Amofa, it is very true preventing diseases rather than curing is the best option for Ghanaians to be healthy and possibly more productive but what it takes to promote health and prevent diseases and ill health requires commitment,technical direction,political will without vested interest for votes and siphoning resources legally earmarked for primary health care activities. District Directors of health should be contracted and empowered to also contract technical and competent people to run preventive health programs subdistricts and community levels.
