The ECOWAS Standby Force ( ESF ) is made up of pledged military assets from willing Member States for deployment to conflict areas and in emergency situations. Once a country enters into an MOU with ECOWAS on the use of its assets having already taken the necessary domestic legal processes, these forces can be called at a moment notice without further recourse to parliamentary approval. The country needs to increase its pledged units to the ESF apart from the engineering company that was deployed to Mali in 2012.

The NDC is criticizing everything Akuffo Addo does. This shows how naive they are.
Sooner or later, their evil deeds will be known by Ghanaians. 'Uncivilized people always go beyond their limits.'

There are too many ILLITERATES in Ghana who have little or no understanding of national issues but see themselves as champions. Great pity indeed.

Well, that exposes some of our lawmakers who themselves don't know the law but instead of learning or checking their facts rather go in to start criticizing others. The Adaklu MP who criticised President Akuffo-Addo for his actions regarding sending our soldiers to The Gambia only succeeded in misinforming Ghanaians and must be ashamed of himself. Ghanaians deserve an apology from him.

If you're sending combat troops to another country I think that parliament must be in a know. Was it an emergency? Please stop the political gimic by trying to please governments in power.

Dr Danson is spot on in his analysis except on the swearing -in of President -elect Mr Adamas Barrow. Yes, the swearing in ceremony took place in Senegal but in the GamBian embassy which is regarded in international quarters as the extension of the Gambia. It is Gambian territory in Senegal. It is arguably a masterstroke and quite possibly the straw that broke Mr Jammeh 's Resolve.
