The defeat of the NDC should not be a shock to them unless the NDC thinks that the electorate are fools. Having been established on the ideals of probity, accountability and fairness, the NDC should have known that any deviation on these ideals would definitely lead them to opposition especially with the many writings on the wall admonishing them to look within and correct these serious lapses by diehards of the party but to no avail, the leadership of the party should know that they are running a losing campaign and they lost. Rampant daylight corruption, unchecked stealing, arrogant behaviours and a weak leadership unable to step on the toess and neck of his own people coupled with bad political decisions caused the downfall of this great party. I really do not see why the NDC cannot do any introspection to know that these were the cause of their defeat. Change in the leadership and a complete overall of the NDC is the only way to revamp and bring back this noble party from the brink of disaster. Lastly, Mahama cannot be the ideal candidate for any NDC revamping unless he changes his leadership style.

The powers that be in the NDC Party did not listen to the grass root and foot soldiers because they new it was a done deal with the EC set to rig the elections in their favour, but the Supreme court ruling in 2012 and their own assertion that 'elections are won at polling stations' gave birth to a vigilant NPP who made rigging impossible this time round. Fact is, the NDC bigwigs were too sure that it was a done deal with EC and became complacent.
Also is it not contradictory to say "...the electorate were complaining of school fees, feeding grants, salaries, allowances, jobs, and corruption among others and yet the Mahama led administration was commissioning projects which is very commendable but could not win the minds of the people,” and then in the same breath you claim that you are "consoled by the fact that former President Mahama was committed to solving the challenges in the country at the expense of the victory of the Party. How do you reconcile the two statements? If Mahama and his NDC were committed to solving the challenges in the country as you claim, then he would have listened to the electorates complaints about school fees, feeding grants, salaries, allowances, jobs, and corruption among others.
Simply, they grew complacent, arrogant and too sure that the elections was a done deal with the EC poised to rig it in NDC's favour. Sorry, the rigging plan did not materialise! Sorry, go lick your wounds, learn your lessons, rid yourselves of arrogance and corruption before you come again! Good luck!

This group ve given some good reasons as they continue to find out the reasons that led to their defeat,who else could've trumpeted the project John Mahama undertook rather than himself?if you remember all this projects were commissioned by him in a special way throughout the country,some were even commissioned in phase 1&2.Again the teacher trainee allowances were paid at last just to decive the people,yes let me agree with the group on the expansion of their electoral college,it was overblown just to make people feel they were more grassroot commited than the Npp,if you remember former president Rawlings commended the npp for our expansion.Asiedu Nketia of the NDC was given too much power to punish people he didn't like in the NDC,even before the election we all heard what he said about Aframs plains NDC sitting mp.All the projects they referred to were all done by loans and not as a results of good economic prospects so how could NDC benefit from such projects?a happy teacher teaching under a tree ll perform better any day than a teacher in an E-block building who finds it difficult to feed or pay bills and rent.Corruption was done in broad day light,the president himself recieved bribe of a Ford from a Burkinabe,woyome,GEEDA,SADA,NSS among others contributed to the defeat of NDC,they should get prepared to be in opposition for the next 16 years because Npp ll perform so much that even NDC members ll not like them to be change.
