Vladimir, what do you mean by the military intervention will protect lives and properties?I am surprised you have arrive at this conclusion when you cannot envisage the outcome of the intervention. What you have said will only be possible if there no resistance to the intervention.COULD YOU POINT TO AN EXAMPLE WHERE MILITARY INTERVENTION IN A NATION HAS SAVED LIVES AND PROPERTIES DURING THE INTERVENTION AND AFTER IT?Military interventions always lead to loss of lives, destruction of properties and economies and traumatises the population. It is never the ideal means to resolve a conflict. We must not ignite conflicts and later turn around to find solutions to them when they have become destructive, intractable and costly.JAW,JAW IS ALWAYS BETTER THAN WAR ,WAR.

Unfortunately, the author of the article some how was described as an analyst or a specialist of some kind. This is misleading, given that it is now fashionable for any airhead and frozen brain who can put together some letters and words seem to claim a title for themselves and the Media swallows it whole, without the benefit of chewing (verifying) the Mascuraders. That said, the "Ghanian Russian" (the name) has demonstrated a old truth and that is, "if you think ignorance is expensive, try functional illiteracy and miseducation". Kneejerk, Reactionary and Emotional outbursts/prouncements without introspection, is a diagnostic feature of an Immature and Retentive Personality". Military Intervention of this type has never seriously and meaningfully Resolved or Mitigated the Underlying Issues or Conflict. Examples are many, but these will make the case: Item, Ivory Coast, Mali, Libya, and of course Iraq. All of these cases Should make us all, especially ECOWAS, AU and the UN Member states from Reaching for the Simple but most Destructive Option in Pursuit of Maintaining Peace and Security anywhere in the World. The size and history of the President or Prime Minister should not be the Yard stick or Guide to the Decision to Militarily Intervene. The protection and safeguarding of lives and property Should be the Yard stick or Guide. That is not the case in the Gambia as we exchange opinions. Ex-President and the remaining "Hang-On few Supporters can be Quarantined, and Confined to the State House and the Water, Electricity and the Means for them to get Supplies Cut Off. They would be Cut Off from the GAMBIANS and the restof the World by jamming their Communications. Given that the Military Head has reportedly thrown "his Soldiers" behind President Adama Barrow, what is the urgency and need to get them out with Force? In the mean time, Psychological Warfare is what is appropriate and need to be applied and implemented immediately. That is Bright and intense Flood Lights Concentrated on the State House at Night Fall to make it difficult if not impossible for the Occupants to Sleep. During the day, Helicopters and other nose making equipment should be deployed to rattle and unsettle the Occupants. If and when this is Tactical measures are applied and implemented, Ex-President Yaya Jammeh and the few left over "Hang-Ons" will Surrender within a Short Time without a Violent and Potentially Deadly Encounter with the few Supporters left with Ex-President Yaya Jammeh. May peace and tranquility ramain an Integral part of the Gambian Character Forever.
Very short sighted advice.
