What is this? What was the timeline given for the restoration of these allowance? The govt. took office barely a month ago, no budget has been made to that effect but you want to pressure the govt. to conjure money from heave ...

The govt. took office barely a month ago, no budget has been made to that effect but you want to pressure the govt. to conjure money from heaven to pay for your allowance? My friend you have to show leadership, let your people know that there are a lot of competing needs that have to be painstakingly assessed, plan and budget for before the can be resolved.

Well, you know before making the promise,they deserve it, find money to pay them,what NDC did was dumb, they refused to listen to advice and they paid for their arrogance.

This allowance has been there for about 3 decades going through all governments and no government even ever complain or even talk about it and you came to remove it forgeting that because of the allowance the corrupt teachers have found many ways to EXTORT money from the students,students paying all kinds of fees although the training supposed to be free, every teacher is selling a pamphlet which if you don't but no matter how brilliant you are you will fail that subject, something some of us never went through but GES or Ministry of Education has refused to stop it.

Converting these training colleges to tertiary institutions was not necessary when the teaching and learning in the schools remain the same,just waste of resources and now you are paying for that dumb decision.

This so-called restoration of teachers n nurses training allowance is seriously inappropriate bcos any professional program n certificate worth its name requires the requisite investment to acquire same. if a professional is to be confident n proud to ply his/her trade then u can't be treated like a basic school students be fed n paid an allowance...where this exist its either on scholarship by state or corporate entities which is even so limited in the numbers granted.
now, if the new govt, npp govt , I understand the policy was reached by joint agreement by both parties in the House parliament, turn round n promise to restore it , it is indeed an act of real bad faith the then minority now majority.. what do we expect persons pursuing other professional programs like law, accounting, medicine architecture , engineering etc to also expect from govt...free largess n feeding from govt.,..this restoration dieee its just bogus indeed...no wonder teachers in particular are always struggling for proper recognition n remuneration bco the investment made by one in acquiring a profession is most often well compensated for in pay n other incentive packages n opportunities in the business..let's teachers be wise n demand the right packages not allowance bcos one can't eat his cake n have it...Note this: allowance at college is = small salary at work. that is reality .n nothing can change it..
