The reason is that most of the district directors are using transfer as a tool to punish some teachers against their will , so its a good idea for stopping that nonsense.Adeembra R.C .JHS in Donkorkrom Afram Plain north district, the beginning of this very academic year because teachers asked why a junior staff was asked to be headmaster to seniors on the staff so the district director said why should the teachers asked that which mean they are about to teach her what to do so she transfer all the teachers on that school to different primary schools just to punish the teachers because the are fighting for their rights so reports have gone to the heads so that is why embargo have been laid on the transfers.

That is exactly my point,very dumb directive, who in his right mind will do such a thing,which reputable organization will do that if not only the corrupt Ghana Education Service,how can you suspend transfers throughout the country without any reason,when did that happen before?

With this suspension some will still be transfered through back door while those who cannot afford to bribe them will remain at their stations forever, and in case of women if you open your legs for them they will say your case is special, you will get transfer.

Anyway,that Director General will soon go,there is change of government, he will go with his foolishness for issuing directive without a reason.

Every teacher that is transfered is paid transportation and other allowances which are often not well captured in the budget because there is no way of knowing number of transfer as headteachers and ges directors misuse transfers.
